Guidry Fired Yet?

Side note: what’s Mario’s obsession with bringing in coordinators and not letting them bring in their own guys? Guidry only brought in Chevis and Dawson didn’t bring anyone other than a couple of analysts if I’m not mistaken. What other head coach does this?
It can work. Saban always brought in castaway HCs to be coordinators with the rest of the staff in place. Penn State brought in Tom Allen to replace Manny with position coaches already in place and it stayed Top10 in yards and scoring.

It all comes down to "fit" and the man in charge.

The more I think about the HC we’ve all talked about, even though he hasn’t been a DC before, he’s one of the best pure “Head Coaches” in college football before his issue. Might be good to have with Mario and re-evaluate some of the offseason, off field, and general management type stuff.
Great take

Yea but we had no talent om defense then
I’m not going to pretend we had super studs but

2022 D/roster had 5 guys currently on NFL rosters
Tyrique
Ivey
Kinchens
Williams
Taylor

Also had Jackson at DL who was at FSU this year. Flagg at MIzzou. The SMU D guys.

I know whom you are referring to. Former defensive player but never a DC.

Is that the path we should go? Why reinvent the wheel here? Hire a first time DC?

I say Muschamps should be option #1.

Fitzgerald's court date isn't until April of 2025. So if that's the name (it was the first name i thought of as well), his legal matters will not be resolved by the time a new DC is needed to be in place.

Unless he settles and takes less money for some type of exoneration from the school.

I don't know if I'd call him an experiment.

He's smart and he knows how to run an operation.

Brian Flores had never called plays before the Vikings hired him.

You are rightfully entitled to your opinion sir.

Flores had worked as a position coach for some of the greatest defensive minds on the planet in BB and Tomlin. Fitzgerald is a B1G, bro ball, conservative minded HC that would be trying to run a defense for the first time in his life under a clueless X & O’s and gameday HC. Do you really think that is what we need? Or something worth taking a chance on?

Muschamp won’t be a DC again until Kirby needs one imo
Then give me in no particular order:

- Miami (OH) DC
- BYU DC
- James Madison DC
- Minnesota DC
- Arizona State DC
- Tulane DC

If we are going BIG in the future, give me Minnesota DC.

Exactly. And this clown takes forever and is so "deliberate" in his process. He isn't that smart. What he is, is indecisive and clueless about what it takes to run a program at the highest level. This is not working and it is not going to work. If I'm Radakovich, I bringing in a GM to handle all NIL, personnel, and recruiting matters and he (or she) becomes Mario’s boss. Next year, he needs to win 8 games or it may be time. Massive contract be damned.
He needs to win 8 games? So after 4 years, we should be happy with a ONE win improvement vs how manny left the program? Nope,
