Correct, unless this kid is some special kid off the field (doubt it) there is no reason to keep him if he can't contribute much.

Dude was far from a 5star. Don't let scout.com rankings fool you. Nobody never visits that site.

Briscoe, Ivery, and now Grimble are gone...

Some posters should look at that as a sign that they should reserve judgment before immediately attacking posters that point out concerns with lack of young talent. There were a number of posters over the last couple of years who reasonably pointed out that the majority of our young DTs appeared to be JAGs at best. As it turns out, they appear to have been dead-on in their assessment. And while DTs take longer to develop, because it really takes men to excel in the trenches, you would still expect to hear that a DT is showing flashes on the practice squad or something. Case-in-point (though not a DT) is AQM's advanced pash rushing skills, which Donofrio has highlighted.

So are you drawing attention to yourself for calling these guys JAGS?

You wants some daps?

actually, no. But several posters made reasonable comments on our apparent lack of young talent, and got lambasted for it.

I am pointing the issue out, bc a good message board is one where divergent views are considered. it makes for interesting reading and conversation. Rather than an echo chamber of homer fans.

So are you their public defender? The fighter for equal rights on this message board?

Should Gator Fans be treated equally?

I think people are just sick of the mopes and the agendas. Whether your Pro-Al or Against-Al, we just want Canes Talk.

Yup, some guys have some defense mechanism that if you are doing any constructive criticism that you are destroying the program. Some of these kids you can tell immediately and no amount of development will help. I remember when Daniel Adderly came to UM and the first practice was open, I never saw a scholarship player talent level soo low. Dude couldnt run, catch or block. Yet guys got ****ed when it was mentioned (I wasnt the only one). That right there let me know some guys just cant be objective. But hey we are all fans, we just go about it differently in how we want to be better. Some see players who arent really UM material and comment and some see players who they expect the coaches to develop by osmosis or something

Ivery might have panned out if he was dedicated to the team and school instead of marijuana. He had the size and strength.
