Golden's First Press Conference Notes (Long)

@CanesFootball: Golden anticipates Trayone Gray to open at RB. Says he can play WR or wildcat QB, too. "Very good athlete. Big, strong kid."

Interesting

I can imagine the arguments Carrol and Ice will have on who gets to coach this beast.

Golden asked how to narrow the gap between FSU and UM: "Again, I'm not worried about them." Excited about #Canes' direction

Manny Navarro ‏@Manny_Navarro 28s

Golden says he's not worried about #FSU "we're on a different course, a different path. We're excited about the direction we're going."

**** what?

He's on Louisville bruh..worrying about FSU will get another shallackin put on our a**es by Louisville..youre a fan..he's a coach. Two different mindsets my boy

I think Gray would get on the field earlier at WR. Duke, Yearby, and Gus should be enough to carry the load at RB. Put Gray next to Coley, Dorsett, Waters, Lewis at the same **** time.....its on and poppin.

I really like this quote from today "I want to start that mindset now. One day at a time. We need to be accountable to it. If not there has to be consequences. We cannot go backward at any point during this camp."

I love to hear this but let's see it now. No more excuses, get it done!

Not trying to be a negative person, but if we struggle again on Defense I can see Golden using the LB depth as the problem. I understand losing Fig hurts, but Blue wasn't going to have an impact and we have other guys can that can play the SLB position (Armbrister, McCord,Kirby,Owens)

Also, when is the Depth Chart coming out?

This is his 4th year here. Any depth concerns we have fall squarely on our current staff.

Exactly. Any holes in the roster are on him.

I think Golden mention this in Feb. Gray should absolutely start off at rb. We have only three guys there, so it makes the most sense.

He can move back to receiver when we have Scarlett, Cronknite, and Williams coming in. This team is realy talented and deep.

I would rather see him at WR as a freshman though so he can learn the position. We have Duke, Yearby, Gus, and Tucker who can get carries.

Its amazing how many plans they have for a kid that wasnt even here the whole year. shows his true value.

I think he will be fourth on the depth chart. You let him return kicks, you have him run wildcat on the goaline, and he gets mop up duty when we are blowing team out. This team is becoming really, really talented.

Tucker is the starting FB. You have Dorsett, Waters, Coley, Lewis and Scott as your Top5 receivers. You add in Jones, Berrios and Brady, Langham and the kid from NJ, and I don't see the need at the position right now.

How about Carter being a leader as a true sophomore! Also the team having a different approach since January. To top that all off, the defense has been "attacking" more.
All that talking Carter was doing during the offseason was the real deal. Those South Florida leaders are tired of being embarrassed, they're ready put their city and college back at the top, where it belongs!
I see why Carter is a fan favorite.

We don't use a traditional FB all the time anymore and I truly believe you'll see Tucker get some carries.

This is a gerat problem to have as many never thought he would make it into school.

Francisco Garcia ‏@FrankyG_ 1m

Know Duke loves returning kicks but with Coley, Gray, Burns, etc, he can really focus on carries and catches

Perfect guys to be back there since we're gonna take Duke off returns.

didnt even mention Corn.. I was excited to see Corn on the return game...

I'm sure he'll get some burn there as well.

So Golden wouldn't confirm Kevin Olsen's suspension and said that he will absolutely be at practice tomorrow competing. Even said that as far as he knows Olsen will be available to the media tomorrow. Kind of weird that nobody at the school has confirmed the report about the suspension.

Also, I don't get where some fans say Golden is constantly looking for excuses. He says here about the incident with Blue and Figs that he is responsible for every player. After the season when questioned about D'no he said that the defense was his and it's on him to make it better. Seems to me like he takes responsibility. He did bring up the NCAA cloud a lot over the years but he was asked about it mostly. Oh well, looking forward to hearing the reports from camp. Let's get it started.

does anyone feel that Gray will be here..I think Al is keeping us upbeat

Gray should be in by now...just saying.

with the Mess with Blue/ Figs

Olsen BS

my guess is get camp started..get the natives happy and drop the news that gray is not getting in this year..

JUST MY OPINION...HOPE THE **** I AM WRONG
