Golden with Joe Rose 11/18

I'm not thinking clearly mane.

Any ******* that tries to blame the offense I want to stab in the face with a soldering iron.

Take note of who those are, that way you know to completely tune them out on any other topic posted on this site. Its time like this where you get weed out the posters.......

Al keeps talking about missed tackles. Call me crazy but I don't see them that much, what I see is us getting zero push from the DL with a RB going at full speed able to cut in any direction and busting through wide open holes. Also didn't see too many "mental errors" this week too. We flat out got mauled up front and refused to adjust to the bubble screen.

I saw a bunch of them against VT and Duke but here is the thing

Who teaches fundamentals? The staff.

Who dictates the personnel we use? The staff.

Agreed and my writing was poor. My point was that we didn't give up 350 yards rushing solely off of missed tackles and Al is focusing on the wrong thing. They we able to toy with our defense at their will while mainly running 2 **** plays. (zone read, bubble screen). Thought our passing defense was actually solid and Gunter had great coverage on that long catch. I do appreciate Joe Rose picking at Mark and the defense but let up easy and didn't press the matter hard when Al danced around the question.

Not for nothing, but our coaches should not have to be spending time teaching how to tackle. Dudes already should know how to at this level. The issue is bigger than that. If you're on defense and you're getting gashed week after week, you're physically wearing down AND you are mentall checking out.

I was just speaking of the missed tackles and not all fundamentals are known to perfection when entering college. Clearly there is room for improvement. The other issues are clearly evident as well (physically wearing down and mentally checking out).

Golden didn't use those words. That is Joe making his opinion on it. Golden isn't going to blast people in the media. Highsmith did have a good game compared to his other games probably cause Duke didn't throw the ball.

i never get blaming coaching for missed tackles.. i mean, the coach is supposed to put you in the best positions to make the play and teach you the fundamentals, but you can't make the tackle for the guy...

Come on man nothing the guys says is gonna b right on the backdrop of 3 straight hammerings. He seems rattled tho. I think he will do a good job but he seriously needs to get rid of No D. If he really feels he can with that dude here he is done. The guy is out of his depth and Goldens relationship with him is a problem.

For the first time I can't listen he just sounds like he is all over the place...

If he is approving this defense something is completely wrong if he can't see
this is a problem...

While I can appreciate his accountability on one hand i still dont understand his logic
and approach to opponents...Duke should be a gimmie game not matter what...
There is no shoot out its defend kick their butt and then score points...I don't get why
he makes us play down to other teams level...Duke doesnt have nearly the athletes
we do...His constant reference to Temple makes ZERO SINCE this is not TEMPLE...

The pressure there and the pressure here is completely different...Temple was willing
to shut the football program down...Miami has a history winning championships, dominating,
getting kids from the inner city drafted...its a cycle that we sholuld keep these kids on.

We have no idea what's its like as a defense to not be able to trust your offense to give u a breather

The offense has no idea what it's like to have a defense they can trust. Every possession seems that much more important because the offense knows if they don't score they will be down another 7 points and probably won't get the ball back for another 7 minutes.

When will Golden say, ***** it, we can't stop them so we might as well be aggressive and if they score at least we have more time on the clock to score back

This team is soft mentally and they show no cojones, therefore you see players out of position, taking bad angles etc. Once the panic button is pushed in the season (and it happened for 8 years now) you can forget them, the sad part is, that it seems impossible for the last CEOs to stop this free fall. IMO, when I watched former teams they looked and acted like men, nowadays the teams look like boy scouts, with the exception of a couple of players. They know that they are not nearly what the fans expected and go in the tank or get cynical like Morris did after the VT game.

Summary from the WEZ:

-Brought team in yesterday to review dilm. Didn't want loss lingering
-Team off today
-Mental or physical when giving up that many rushing yards to Duke? It's all of it. Missing tackles we weren't missing earlier this season
-They were good in the redzone. Our redzone D isn't as good as it was before
-Too many 3rd and shorts.
-Their running attack ended up resembling Florida in that they were just gonna line up and run it (LULZ)
-Is it DTs or what causing the problems? It's a combination of things. All 11 guys that have to be on the same page
-This **** just said Highsmith played well
-Porter played one of his best games of the year
-Does he worry about confidence when guys miss tackles and aren't having success? Absolutely he says. Says he'd be worried if they weren't frustrated
-Game starts off good then for whatever reason the team isn't playing as well
-Says the seniors have been through a lot and we need to support them. They haven't won a bowl-game. Whoa is me bull****
-Is D getting through to guys, do we have enough talent? Again, it's a all of us. It's not coaches vs players or players vs coaches. It's not one position group. It's everybody
-Says the breakdown of releasing crossing routes didn't happen this week. It was something else. (Yeah our run D you ****)
-Do you sit down with D'ohno and how much time does he spend with D'ohno talking defensive stuff? Says he's involve with all three units. If there's something that he doesn't like or needs fixing then goes off on some bull**** about Kamalu and Elder. Says he has conversations about guys needing to play more. (That's why he brought up Elder and Kamalu)
-Does he have enough guys playing "well?" He's gonna acknowledge the guys that play well and not the guys who didn't play well. In the media I'm assuming (I agree. Don't call out your players in the media)
-Get ready for a Virginia team that has been a problem for us recently (Kill me)
-Offense had 600 yards of offense. Says we didn't go into this game thinking we'd have to win a shootout like last year
-It ended up being a shootout and we didn't convert enough
-Duke converted in the redzone and we did not convert well enough on top of not getting stops on the other end (bull**** about this being a team loss, also blames special teams)
-Crawford ran hard, some positive bull**** about Morris, Herb Waters played at a high level
-Linder's performance one of the best he's ever seen from a lineman
-Dorsett gonna make a go of it this week against UVA
-Rose pumping up receiver core. Golden says Hurns operating at a different level
-Gonna need Sandland to step up with receiver depth hurt with injuries
-How does Golden rally everyone after 3 straight losses? It's gonna be a tough week and it's about moving forward.
-Porter said it best, "Let's focus on the things we want and not on the things we don't want" (I don't even know WTF that means-loser talk)
-Gotta block out external and team needs to learn to block out the negative just like they did the positive when they were 7-0
-How does D'ohno handle negatives? At the end of the day it's Golden's responsibility. Says he doesn't talk to D'ohno about that negative stuff. They're discussing personnel, not outside stuff.
-If he listened to that stuff he wouldn't have gone to Temple.
-Appreciates and is grateful of fans' passion. Says we're working real hard to move forward.
-Verbal commits-what percentage of them stick? Says retention rate of verbals will be a lot higher and remain high compared to last 2 years with 'that' hanging over our head. (THE CLOUD!)
-He said the cloud!
-Says they were holding out for some local kids waiting for their announcement last year. They'll tell you they're coming to your school then the next time you see them on TV they're pulling out another hat

Joe Rose also just dropped this gem.

"If the AD goes to Golden and says, you need to make a change at defensive coordinator. Then Golden would say, you need to make a change at head coach."

FvCK YOU GOLDEN YOU MFER

anybody else think that he is only playing/praising highsmith at this point as a middle finger to the fan base????

No, I think he's trying to protect a 20 year old kid who is under his wing.

On top of all that stuff that has been discussed in here....WHEN THEIR RUNNING QB GOT INTO THE GAME EVERY-****-BODY KNEW THAT THE QB WAS GONNA RUN AND THEY COULDN'T STOP IT....everybody knew the QB was gonna run the **** ball. AND HE STILL SCORED 4 **** TOUCHDOWNS ON US.

and another thing...I am sick and MF- uckin tired of seeing Armbrister, Highsmith, Crawford, and Cornelius on the field PERIOD. Cornelius and Armbrister especially have no credibility being on the field during gametime. I simply don't trust them on the feld and when I see them I totally expect a busted play.

But don't flat out lie.

That only erodes Godlen's creditibility.

False confidence is bad...positive reinforcement is something you use with kids and to an extent teens...im not saying destroy the kid, but he literally goes out of his way to give him props...its infuriating

Question for the gallery real talk how many starters have we lost on defense other than D Bush compared to the train wreak of injuries we had on offense. One in which includes a gimpy QB. New OC, Injuries in opinion the offense has some excuses... the defense has none. Its coaching and scheme. PERIOD!!!
