Golden with Joe Rose 11/18

Golden kind of hinted he need to have a youth ovement. That will be a cover for coach d. He will say give Nima a chance to develop the real talent

I don't think Golden feels job pressure at all. What he's feeling is the dream slipping away. They wen't from knocking on the top 5, to out of the top 25 in 2 weeks. His biggest challenge is to understand why kids aren't reacting. Early in the season we were playing at a much higher level on defense. We were never very talented, but kids played physically and made tackles and turnovers. The last two weeks, tackling has been abysmal, the DL has been getting abused, and zero turnovers. Anyone who played football knows there are two possible causes, either the team is beat up mentally or physically, maybe both. It's the coaching staffs job to not let this happen. We have a lot of pride and heart on our D, so I'm putting this on the coaches.

When a team is as poorly prepared (essentially clueless on D) as we've been the past few games, and the coaches can't figure out what to do, they're causing what is slipping away. Agreed.

The coach d obsession is getting weird. They were stopping people u til the offense completely collapsed. No one cares about the horrific numbers the offense has put up especially on 3rd down. To me Morris less this team into the ground not coach d. He is a team captain who has no leadership skills

It's called "the November crash". It's happened for 10 years under the same sham S and C program.

You can't possibly blame this loss on the offense. You can't be that big of a ******* idiot.

Talking about 3rd down. The offense went 5-15 on 3rd down conversions while Duke went 5-13 (Duke was also 2-2 on 4th). Yeah let's blame the offense for that.

Duke average 6.9 yards per carry and ran for 358 yards. Yup, that's the offenses fault too.

The offense had 28 first downs and Duke had 27 first downs. The offense sure didn't do their part.

The offense went for 565 total yards while Duke went for 543. I guess the offense didn't do their part.

We put up 30 points. Regardless of the fact that you think we should have scored more, that should be enough to ******* beat Duke.

What's weirder is your insistence that our defensive collapse is caused by the QB. I thought you were trolling, or it was some new schtick. But, apparently you really are obsessed. Makes me wonder what Morris did to you.

A smart coach would know that **** dont work and change it, if not then say good bye to their coaching career

maybe, but that same coach implemented that **** and had success with it previously. He has evidence that it works. We have evidence that it doesn't work short term, but there's definitely proof of long term success. So either Golden is going to abandon his process for short term success, which I doubt, or he's going to keep implementing building for the long term. If he does that, I can't say I would blame him. Saban was going to implement his system regardless of results, and no one would expect that he'd jump ship from his system because of a lack of short term success.

He sounds like a wounded puppy up there now. Not the confident leader of an major college football program. He is shook, as he should be. He just got throttled by phucking Duke

You are full of it Gaytor!

But as Saban implemented his system he saw progress along the way. As we approach the end of year three, this team is increasingly resembling last years defense, even they're a year more experienced, with a year of "UTough".

l yes it was morris and coley that allowed duke to rush over 300 yards on us. they didnt stop anyone. they've given up 400+ yards in every ACC game the last 2 years outside of wake forest.

I think there is no question the defense is the big part of the reason we lost (85%) but I believe he is also saying there are issues with the offense. The offense scored 23 points (remember 7 points came on a Coley punt return). I don't care how many yards they had because yards don't dictate the outcome of the game (we out "YARDED" them so we win).

The offense could have done more but did not. Not blaming one player on offense but I think they could have done more. When we needed the offense to do something, we couldn't get something:

Miami (FL) at 2:47 3rd Quarter (31-30)

3rd and 1 at MIA 47: Dallas Crawford rush for a loss of 3 yards, fumbled, recovered by MiaFl Dallas Crawford at the MiaFl 44. The play was there and Dallas bobbled the ball. 1 yard, we need 1 yard. We lose 3.

Miami (FL) at 11:37 4th Quarter (38-30)

2nd and 5 at MIA 39: After running for 5 on first down, we abandon the run and throw an incomplete pass.

3rd and 5 at MIA 39: Next we burned a time out because we couldn't call in our play.

Stephen Morris rush for 3 yards to the MiaFl 42. Knowing we need the first down he comes up short and doesn't make an attempt to hit that first down.

4th and 2 at MIA 42: We punt, instead of go for it.

Yep and yep. Crappy tackling happens when you are physically getting your **** pushed in and when you are mentally checked out of getting your **** pushed in week after week. No kid like to play in a defense where they're getting gashed week after week.

As for Golden, this is the first time in his coaching career that he is really getting questioned. He's never had this type of microscope placed on him. Now, with the NCAA behind us, he's on the clock and it will be interesting to see how he responds. Same for Donofrio.

With Al's constant defense of certain players playing because they have a small amount of mental mistakes during practice and games tells me he obviously doesn't give a **** how many physical mistakes they make during that time. If mental mistakes are all this guy cares about, let's field a team of all the Law and Med students the rest of the year. Sure they won't be physically able to make any plays, but I guarantee there will be no mental mistakes and Al will be very pleased with the performance.

We have no idea what's its like as a defense to not be able to trust your offense to give u a breather
