Wow, if this sad sack of **** was acting mopey during his presser because he missed out on the job, and not because he was trying to be mum pending a job offer, then we're really ****ed. The dude tries really hard and is still really bad at coaching. Imagine what's going to happen when he loses some of the zeal. We're gonna be opening the 600 Club at Sun Life.

From what i read golden was their 3rd option behind franklin and munchak.

That's what it looks like at this point. I still think that both Franklin and Munchak are NFL bound.

Keep hope alive, boss. Franklin would be a boob to take that job. He's got a big future.

Golden is Plan D big time, but it looks like he very well may be their only plan. Schiano isn't going. Munchak will get an NFL coordinating position. Vanderbilt wont let Franklin go easily and the Browns/Titans are allegedly interested in him. It just might be a new Butch Davis day in Miami.

How silly. Every indication from PSU, including from the media up there, is that Golden was right at the top of PSU's wish list. But of course, he was their "plan D", right.

Just because he was interviewed first(actually was the only one available to interview, Munchak still had a job and Franklin had a bowl game) doesn't make him a front runner. Oh and the Penn State media appear to suck just as bad as Ferman. Penn State is doing their due diligence. They may just be stuck with him as their only legitimate choice. I hope for this.

Judging by his press conference, that sounds about right.

How so? I love the amateur psychologists on here pretending that because he was not his usual upbeat and intense self it means he was upset about losing the PSU job. The man spent a weekend making a huge decision regarding his alma mater and future career path. Not being upbeat in no way means he was rejected by PSU, and most reports say otherwise.

Penn State says they didn't make an offer to anyone. I bet the timeline was too tight for Al. If he didn't have to surface Monday this is probably still going on and we have EEs coming down not knowing who their coach is. If O'Brien had taken the Texans job on the Saturday of our bowl game and Penn State had begun searching for a coach then, Golden if offered I believe is the Penn State coach.

The main indication that he wasn't at the top of the list is that he didn't get offered the job.
Carry on worshipping your dopey hero Corch Cloudy while he fcks my program.

He put ZERO effort in the interview with Rose and the press conference. Coming from a guy who is one of the hardest working coaches in the business, that speaks volumes. Zero fvcks were given. He wanted to be anywhere but there.

You know, clouds are an important component to life on Earth. Without them, gasses would just flow right out into space and we would have no air to breathe, no fresh rain water to drink. Life would cease to exist.
