So I just want to recap and somebody feel free to correct me if I make a mistake.
1. Nobody, including Golden, has been offered the Penn State job yet.
2. Golden disappeared for 3 days and kept the school, team, and recruits hostage at a critical time.
3. Travonte Valentine, arguably our most important recruit this cycle, decommits due to the uncertainty around Golden, but both he and his coach say that they want to talk to Golden to possibly recommit. Golden hasn't even called/texted either of them.
4. The vast majority of our recruits essentially said that they would remain committed to the school regardless of Golden's future.
5. Golden has appeared both terse and hurried in his press conference and radio interviews since he reappeared.
6. The statement he released was blatantly crafted with lawyer speak to give himself wiggle room to jump to Penn State if the job opens up.
7. Penn State wants a long term coach.
8. Of all the candidates Penn State has interviewed, Golden is the only one that appears to have long term dedication to Penn State. Munchak, Franklin, and Roman all want the NFL in the future and they may very well get it this year.
If I missed or misrepresented anything, please let me know. I ask why we are so sure he isn't still looking to leave and why some people want to keep him so badly when he has shown over the past week that he doesn't really want to be here.
