Golden on the Joe Rose show.

So much for that QB competition.

Love DC back at safety and truly hope he gets a shot for PT this year.

Like I said, its not a real competition when you announce the starter before even the spring ends. He wants his loyal senior QB to start regardless if he's the best player or not. Golden just doesn't get it.

I bet Olsen feels like sh*t hearing Golden in public proclaiming Williams as the starter while he's putting the work in.

It's very bad of Golden to do this.

Olsen should feel like **** for acting the fool last year. He's got a lot of ground to make up. Williams has been "putting the work in" for longer, and apparently has a better grasp of things.

Seriously, you're an idiot of you think that Golden will intentionally sit Olsen if he thinks he's our best option to win. No coach wants to lose--that's career suicide.

So is keeping incompetent coordinators, but that doesn't stop this coach.

mccord and muhammed should be on the field at the same time i just dont get it
How would you stop the run if both of them on the field at the same time?

Pls go......

McCord did get his **** pushed in against the run the few times he was on the field when a team actually ran the ball. That's why I don't understand "bro Diabeetus gut played the seniors out of loyalty bro". I really wonder where people came up with this line, and wether it's fact or fiction. Honestly can someone point out where Diabeetus said he was being loyal to the seniors? Or is this just a line that was parroted, because no one had an explanation as to why some of these kids where seeing the field heavily.

I really want to know where these "seniors" where going to transfer to that was the same caliber as UM and be guaranteed a starting role.

Its not that hard at all.
McCord and AQM are both undersized for their position putting them both on the field on early down's would be a terrible idea. Especially since you dont have a dominate DT.

If you say so....Since were MULTIPLE on defense there are so many ways to get these guys on the field at the same time on early downs.
And If our coaches can't figure out how, then they shouldn't be coaching at the University of Miami.

They're both 3/4 olb's, they should be 250 + next year . I don't consider that undersized.

The only time their hand will be in the dirt is obvious pass downs . Making drops is more of a concern than stopping the run.

so what is the line up you have in mind to get those 2 on the field on early down? It can be nickle or base

Been said before Williams knows the playbook...I'd rather have someone who knows and understands the playbook, check downs and audiables.

Your redshirt freshman could have that down by summer camp. Golden seems to error on the side of experience when the only way you can gain experience is by playing.

No excuse for anyone who lives within 20-30 miles of the stadium to not make it out to the Spring Game next saturday.

1) It's at 6pm, so it isn't as hot.

2) There will be plenty things to keep your children occupied.

3) They are unveiling the new uniforms.

4) You get to see your team in action for the last time until August.

8-10 coming in from Fort Myers...its April for christ sake not Oct in the sun...

whats this $30 I read on here...?

Why couldn't both play olb in a 3-4? Kirby, Dp inside and those two outside to rush the passer.

If they drop it'll just be short flat zones or hooks.

And that's a horrible and irresponsible mismanagement of their talents. I don't want to see either of those guys EVER being asked to backpeddle off the LOS and attempt to cover a jitterbug slot receiver running a 5 yard out from an inside position.

Those kids need to be in the game for one reason and one reason alone...to rush the passer. Anything else is a waste of their talent. Neither of them are agile enough to cover and it ****es me off beyond all **** whenever I see them being asked to do that.

How many times do you see clay Mathews , Demarcus ware and other 3-4 olb on wr ? Never. Very seldom do they have a major responsibility in pass drop. Just simple short zones. Their job is to rush the passer. Just a stand up de.

A true 3-4 needs olb that can rush for it to work.

Btw, I'm talking a base D versus a base offense . Obviously you don't want 4 lb on the field when your opponent has 3-4 wr on the field .

Unless you're denofrio of course .

After watching the abortion that was Snickers last season, I have no faith that Golden will play the best QB.

Just the oldest one.

Meh, either is probably an upgrade.
If the defense doesn't improve dramatically, it won't matter too much who the QB is.

I understand all that...but in THIS version of the 3-4...ONFRIO'S VERSION......those OLB's are seen dropping into coverage too much for my liking.

If you tell me they are going to be purely stand up rushers I have no problem with that, but that's not the way that those 2 fat ***** from Temple run this defense. Go back and watch that Louisville game and notice how many times AQM is asked to backpeddle into coverage over the slot. It's sickening.

Mind you, that was after having 30 days to prepare for the **** bowl game.

It's called creating competition. What would you rather Al do.....candy coat it and give very player on the team a starting job? I hope Olsen hears it and uses it as motivation. He needs that swift kick in the ***.

Oh,I agree. I was just asked how " I'd get those two on the field at the same time".

I was just answering Ihtp's question .

I just hope we can hold them to under 500 yards since we've given up 483 yards or more in our last six games. But I guess pointing that out and not being okay with it makes me a mope.

Wow. I am going to retire from the boards for a while. Not doing it to myself. If we as fans think that stat goes gets drastically better in one season. Lol. Last 8 yrs. sad.

I agree this d needed that dt 2 be a 1st round talent. Im hoping its Moten if not the d will b the same but good in spots, hopefully its improved but i aint holdin my breath.
