Golden on the Joe Rose show.

Olsen is doing great...williams is the leader and starter...no question

Kirby had the best scrimmage for Lbs
Dallas is pushing Carter and Bush or Starting
Beau is a stud Tight end..

looking forward to Thomas and jackson to add sack count

Owens had two sacks as did McCord we need to get one on one with guards etc..

Short and sweet...

Interesting that he's already projecting PT for Thomas and DJax. I can understand Thomas but unless DJax dominates summer practice, I'd rather they redshirt him.

As for Dallas, I'd love to see him in there in nickel or dime coverages.

So much for that QB competition.

Love DC back at safety and truly hope he gets a shot for PT this year.

I like what he had to say about Kirby. If he can come through and just be solid, the LB corps should be really good. He really likes Owens too. I think he splits time with Figs the second half of the year.

I know that Jenkins is hurt but he's not getting his spot back. Deon is more of a natural FS and Carter is obviously too good not to play. Love what I'm hearing about Crawford too. Dude is the ultimate team player and a solid all around football player. Great teams have a player or two like him.

I didn't hear him mention Beua but he did gush about Stan Dobard. AG described him as the most complete TE that we have. I'm gonna love seeing #5 up the seam for chunks of yards.

When Rose asked him about DT he mentioned Kumala. Not Moore, King, Hamilton or Hetalou....scares me but the growth of the LBs makes me feel a little bit better. Obviously we that is the biggest hole on the team. Hopefully Wyche, Moten and Jenkins are working their asses off.

That doesn't sound reassuring

Like I said, its not a real competition when you announce the starter before even the spring ends. He wants his loyal senior QB to start regardless if he's the best player or not. Golden just doesn't get it.

After watching the abortion that was Snickers last season, I have no faith that Golden will play the best QB.

Just the oldest one.

MOAR predictable inside-twists with our undersized SPEED rushers!

Well, he didn't really say that.

Rose asked him, how do you get a double digit sack guy.
Golden answered that it starts with recruiting guys like Chad Thomas and Demetrius Jackson and that they recruited guys like that in AQM and McCord. Said that pass rush starts from the front 4 and can those 4 guys beat their one on ones. Can our front 4 beat 5 guys and then you go from there.
Said that Owens and AQM each had 2 sacks and that McCord had one.

Also said that they have a bunch of versatile guys on the DL in Chick, Kamalu, Moore and Corey King. That another way to get sacks is to move guys like Chick and Kamalu, who are both 280-283lbs inside and get them matched against a guard, implying that their burst would be a mismatch in our favor.

Said Olsen went 12-17 for 170 yards and a TD, and that he's doing really well. The game has slowed for him, but that right now RW is ahead of him.

Said our depth across the board is very good. Our secondary of 16 people only lost 2 last year. With Owens and Young and with Armbrister coming on strong it gives us a real good lb core.

When asked what jobs are open and who has a job locked, Golden said that DP does, and that Kirby has really been the best lb so far, but than said that every other position is involved in tough battles.

Like you said, but not like Golden has said.

Do you guys really listen, or do you just hear what you want and make up your own Shiit?

Golden has not anointed RW the starter for the season, he has said that there's a good battle going on, but that RW is ahead right now.

Thanks for the clarification.

Must have missed when Golden announced the starting QB for 2014. Can you provide a link?

It's also smart to not give Olsen too much credit and the #1 spot even if he is better. The kid had immature issues last year. He needs to keep his head down and on straight. Better chance of staying the course if he thinks he still has an uphill battle to start.

I don't disagree with you and at least he's stocking the cupboards with enough talent for the next coach. His way of doing things is going to get him fired sooner rather than later. This is a big year for Golden, the cloud is gone lol, he needs to produce and put the best QB out there regardless of class.

I bet Olsen feels like sh*t hearing Golden in public proclaiming Williams as the starter while he's putting the work in.

It's very bad of Golden to do this.

Very interesting that Golden constantly brings up Moten, Thomas, and Djaxx as if they are going to be instant impact players

He didn't say anything about counting on DJax and Thomas to contribute right away. Rose asked him "how you find double digit sacks guys?" AG said that you go out and recruit guys like DJax and Thomas and then talked about McCrord's and AQM's development. Probably should take a listen before making dumb comments like that.
