Golden interview after scrimmage

Miller was "Mr Softie". Softest 210lb running back i've ever seen. Seriously. Sometimes, i'd look at the roster and do a double take everytime i watched him get tripped up by a pinkie finger - i swore the kid was a 170lb scatback and was astounded everytime i saw 210lb staring back at me. lol. His apologists swore up and down that Miller was a first round lock.

:ibisroflmao:

We'll miss his speed until Duke gets fully integrated. But we sure wont miss his "toughness".

A "suspect" line? No, the 2003 OL was not suspect at all. Berlin got sacked 17 times and Payton and Moss had an easy time running the ball. The 2003 OL had like 4 NFLers on it, lol.

you're right. I was thinking 2004 when Winston got hurt.

I keep telling everybody that Mike James is on BEAST MODE this year.

Mike James > Lamar Miller

Eduardo Clements > Lamar Miller

Duke Johnson >>> Lamar Miller

I'm not worried about the running game @ all this year.

Simmer down, young'n. Remember, quality over quantity in your posts.

I thought you booted Cityboy, and he came back with this name!

That's really what i'm saying.... I didn't mean to turn this conversation into a war between Payton vs Miller. I think Miller is a better back than Payton.

Miller, IMO, wasn't as tough as a David Wilson or Giovanni Bernard. He rarely went for the extra yards after contact and never used his stiff arm to create separation. There were a large number of times where it looked like the "wind" tackled him. Somebody with the talent of a Lamar Miller could've and should've had a Reggie Bush, Trent Richardson, Percy Harvin type of impact on the game, but he didn't.

Maybe I can't say Payton was better than Miller but nobody can tell me that Miller was better than Payton.

IMO I just think Payton ran the ball way tougher than Miller did last year.

Running the ball tougher does not make him a better RB. Stop trolling mane, it's getting old.

- SMH you robots are hilarious, I never said Payton was a better RB than Miller.... I said Payton ran the ball better his last year, than Miller's last year.

- Yeah *** you to p#ssy... :nelsonhaha:
well they both were 1000 yard backs that averaged 5.6 yards a carry. So it's really comes down to what style of runner you prefer having.

Payton did not get 1,000 yards. He also averaged the same YPC on 45 more carries. Miller was a second-round pick despite a bum shoulder; Payton was not drafted at all. A better debate is who had a better final season as a 'Cane between Miller and Portis. This is a joke.

No, Miller was a FOURTH round pick.

Wait, didn't Lamar have almost 1200 yards last season?

wut? lol

FACT: Lamar Miller was an underachiever. He should have been close to 20 total TDs w/ the god giving talent he possessed.

Fourth Round pick with 1st round talent.

He had a bum shoulder for half the year. No biggie.

Precisely. Obviously, objective evaluators who dont have Miller mancrushes knew the real truth.

The NFL doesnt have time for soft RBs. 4th round is precisely where a 3rd down back should go.

You can't really compare Clinton Portis to Lamar Miller

H-ll No you can't.... Miller is on the Payton level as far as comparing what he brought to the Canes.... Now Payton wasn't an NFL draft prospect but that's completely missing the point.

I think Miller compares most to James Jackson.
Both fast and fickle.

Actually that makes my point.... A player, who didn't even get drafted, had, at least, the same amount of production and effectiveness, as someone who was suppose to be a 1st round pick.

So you're saying the current core won't match or better a player that his play was affected by a bum shoulder?

Maybe Duke Johnson. There have been 6 (I think) 1,000 yard rushers in UM history. Chances that one of these guys produces like Miller isn't very good.

I'm talking "Collectively" as a unit.
You know the 2010 rushing unit led by Damien Berry performed better as a whole than the 2011 one led by Miller right?

So it comes down to can Duke best Miller's RS Freshman year and can either James or Clements best Berry's SR year. I don't see why not.
