I also think lamar was overrated last year, now idk about all 3 being better than him but i think altogether a better running game for sure.

Is this real life?

Lamar Miller was a very good running back..... but great?? NO.

- He never maximized his potential @ Miami. The coaches were always saying things like he needs to develop a stiff arm... so he can shed tackles easier w/o taking so much punishment on his shoulders.

- He also would fall if the wind blew the opposite direction, and he wasn't that consistent running the ball as you'd expect from someone w/ his athletic ability.

- He was still a very good running back but IMO Jarrett Payton was better his last year.

omg is cityboy back already? wow at these posts

Come on man, stop.

I keep hearing nothing but good things about Dwayne Hoilett.... we might need to move Shayon over to Chicks side and give Hoilett a shot at the other end.

I like that idea...

- Chick, Shayon, and Jelani on one side.

- Hoilett, Cain, and McCord on the other.

DEs are more then just pass rushers, need to stop the run as well. Our 3 smallest DEs on one side doesn't make sense to me.

This is true but you have to look at it from the perspective of the system.... Coach D wants the defensive end on the "small" side to be able to drop back into a hybrid LB role and guys like Hoilett, Cain, and McCord fit that mold better than Shayon. Hoilett is 247 lbs and has shown he can hold his own on the D-line. Those three can give us what we want in terms of putting consistent pressure on the QB.

I think Shayon can challenge Chick more than the other guys, already over there..... to push him even harder for that starting spot. Which can only make Shayon and Chick better.

You guys seem to forget that Lamar was a totally different rb after he reaggravated that shoulder...smh at you guys

I cant wait till one of these guys get caught from behind or fails to convert on 3rd and 4...smh

La

really? so you wish failure for the team just so you can say I told you so.
BTW Miller was so ineffective in converting 3rd and short that he was taken out in favor of Clements. Just sayin homey.

These guys on here sound like programed robots..... It's so shocking that another Running back can be better than Lamar Miller... OMG.

Why are yall trippin b/c I said Jarrett Payton was better his last year than Lamar Miller???

I think Miller still has more ability and potential but Payton was more effective for us than Miller was...

- You all act like i'm not talking about a former hurricane. Payton sat behind legends at the Running back position and than when it was his time to shine, Miami didn't miss a beat running the football that year. He destroyed FSU, in the rain, on Offense while Sean Taylor took care of business on defense.

- I don't know what you all remember but I remember clearly that Payton was a BEAST his last year for Miami. He ran way harder than Lamar Miller did at any point last year.

Fact: Payton was the 2004 MVP of the Orange Bowl.

C'mon mane....we beat Tenn with any other Cane RB not named Moss in the OB that year.....Payton had abot 30 yards and got gunned down. Payton was in no way better than Millertime

Maybe I can't say Payton was better than Miller but nobody can tell me that Miller was better than Payton.

IMO I just think Payton ran the ball way tougher than Miller did last year.

Running the ball tougher does not make him a better RB. Stop trolling mane, it's getting old.

Miller had 1272 yards on 5.6 ypc behind at times a shoddy line and somehow some of our fan base thinks he wasn't good. Yeah he fell off some toward the end of the year but he was special in the beginning.

Who said he wasn't good? Stop trying to debate a point that no one ever said. All anyone has said is that he is OVERRATED. Which going by the draft where everyone had in a lock 1st rounder is correct.
And Payton averaged 5.6 behind a suspect line as well.

A "suspect" line? No, the 2003 OL was not suspect at all. Berlin got sacked 17 times and Payton and Moss had an easy time running the ball. The 2003 OL had like 4 NFLers on it, lol.

- Yeah *** you to p#ssy... :nelsonhaha:
well they both were 1000 yard backs that averaged 5.6 yards a carry. So it's really comes down to what style of runner you prefer having.

Based on the stats the defense sounds like it had the backups in.

zone3- quit with the name calling. That also goes for everyone else.

****, basically the only threat on our offense was Lamar and every single defense knew it. Jacory had a good year, but he was a limited player, he couldn't make the deep throws that would force the opposing secondary to back off a little instead of creeping up on the line. Lamar had a great year, he didn't finish like we wanted him to, but that was because of his shoulder.

I would possibly suggest re-reading the posts in here. It doesn't seem to me like the majority of people are saying that at all buddy.

Payton did not get 1,000 yards. He also averaged the same YPC on 45 more carries. Miller was a second-round pick despite a bum shoulder; Payton was not drafted at all. A better debate is who had a better final season as a 'Cane between Miller and Portis. This is a joke.
