This is where I put my foot down. This is a comical spin zone considering NIL and the stark recruiting advantage we should have with Mario.

Mike Norvell cannot recruit high school players. Like, he sucks donkey balls. I think half of CIS can recruit better.

2020: Norvell’s 2020 transition class ranked 22nd nationally on the 247composite. They had 25 signees and 13 of them (yes, over 50%) are no longer on the roster. There were eight blue-chippers, and five of them bolted. Poor recruiting and poor evaluations ✅

2021: Norvell bump class ranked 23rd on the 247composite. 17 signees, only 9 are on the active roster today. Poor recruiting and poor evaluations ✅

2022: Composite class ranks 21st. Blue chip ratio drops to 35%. Infamous Travis Hunter de-commitment along with Nyjalik Kelly, Trevion Williams, Nicco Marchiol, Aliou Bah, etc. Poor recruiting ✅ (too early for evaluations in fairness).

2023: FSU off an amazing season…19th ranked class on 247Composite. De commitments from Cedric Baxter, Gabe Harris, Keldric Faulk, Rod Kearney. Poor recruiting ✅ (too early for evaluations in fairness).

The dude. Cannot. Recruit. It’s been said ad nauseam, everyone on here makes fun of him and has done so for years in regards to his corny demeanor and vanilla/uninspiring recruiting tactics…but now we want to change the narrative? Off a double-digit win season, he barely scrapes the top 20 and most of his best players are pillaged? C’mon man. Mario Cristobal has no excuse to finish behind Norvell in high school recruiting. None. Zero.

I have several bets with friends on Miami vs fsu recruiting class rankings. Many. Miami is not finishing behind fsu is recruiting. And fsu will not sniff the top 10.

Mirage or not, Dreadlocks Norvell's recruiting class rankings haven't exactly lit up the world. However, his Semenholes are whispered to be a dark horse CFBP caliber squad...

so...either his "lower" ranked classes where inappropriately stratified OR he/staff are among the best at developing athletes and gameday coaching putting them in best position for Ws.

He’s evaluated pretty well, he’s developed a QB who stunk out loud when he got there, and he’s raided the portal.

He can’t recruit HS players for ****.

No its makes sense. If say u have Miami, Ohio then Michigan, if the mom says eliminate the schools that are far away. Then u end up with Ohio and Michigan. Is that what happened? Who knows. Take everything with a grain of salt.

Lets see how the season plays out then make judgents. Justin Fuente won 10 games at VT, so did Fedora at UNC. Winning 10 games 1 season is not the goal. Its building a powerhouse to rival Bama and UGA etc. U dont do that with mid upon mid recruiting classes. 1 out of 4, maybe.

OR the media is overrating them. Only time will tell which one it is.

One word...Portal. Norvell has proven time and again to be awful when it comes to high school recruiting but elite regarding the portal. If this were the pre-transfer portal era the Noles would be in big trouble under Norvell, but the portal has really negated some of the typical elite high school recruiters like Mario.

Totally agree. Unless she is afraid of flying. Otherwise it’s a 5+ hour drive which is about how long it takes from showing up at the airport to being dropped off at your Coconut Grove or South Beach hotel. Is she is flying, what’s the difference in a couple of more hours in the air? I don’t seem to understand the excuse. If he were at Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, this argument would make sense. I get that ND is a couple of hours away, but once that selection is no longer considered by the kid, be open to the rest of the options as it is pretty much all of the same as far as “distance” is concerned.

Don’t worry man. They only use that portal thingy and that not sustainable… and wins don’t matter… and our 3 stars are Zo 6 stars —- and we just don’t have the cache as these winning programs ….

Agree 100%. The dude cannot recruit high school players and it’s been proven. MC finishing behind this dude would be a major blow. Hopefully MC closes on blue chippers over the next 6-8 weeks!

How much developing are you really doing when all your best players minus Travis are portal players developed elsewhere before you get them ? Gameday wise I'll give Norvell his due for putting his players in great positions to succeed.
