The "report" didn't say we PAID the buyout ... it simply mentioned that a large buyout existed if it was a normal termination. It is simply a quick hack reporting job to get clicks ... there was no information from Dan Radakovich in that report. So .... it is still feasible and perhaps likely that a for cause termination was executed.

Was not going to be retained, the buyout $$$ was not an issue, he was being terminated. The "for cause" issue simply complicated the separation agreement procedures.

To be fair, Gattis fooled just about everyone. The Candle hire would have been dramatic compared to Mario’s previous OC’s. Gattis (on paper) was a late stab and also a blend of physicality and innovative, intricate play design.

Of course, we now know that isn’t the case, and it was really the other OC that was more hands on in the gamescript.
