Can we know what took so long? My belief is that Mario had every intention on keeping Gattis, but pressure from $$$ people, recruits parents was just too much.

I was assuming it was just over one year from hiring so related to a buyout drop.. looks like he was hired right around 6 Feb last year so what do I know.

I want to hang my hat on this but IIRC, we heard similar reports last year of recruits being excited about the "innovative" offense that Mario was selling them. Maybe it was true at the time and the guys Mario had in mind fell through but nothing about that **** show we saw on offense last year was innovative.
