Gators only willing to do "neutral" site to play UM

The question is they could do a home and home with us vs the Noles, why do they chose the Noles? I would think it would be more advantageous to play us regarding recruiting.

Yup, just like everyone else's.

When you can't beat Charleston Southern you have to be cautious in your OOC scheduling.

Does Jenny Craig have a team?

Last time UF has left the state for an OOC game? Tell me that they schedule just like everyone else.

That depends 82. Sure, I agree the recruiting in our area is better, but the Gators and FSU have a lot of territory they both fight over yearly. They're also more similar to one another than them and us.

Because UF fans actually care about that game. Nobody is worried about recruiting in sofla

Seriously? Noone is worried about recruiting in So Fla? Keep telling yourself that.

The Nolies & Gaytors match up stems back to a gentleman's agreement between the 2 AD's and the governor at the time that they would play each other every year to keep the motion from being introduced into the state legislature again.

Well Miami is worried but UF isnt really worried about it. How many kids does UF typically get from Sofla a year? Sofla has been Miami and FSU territory with UF coming in and getting a player or two every year.

I never understand why people can't understand these issues. It has nothing to do with being scared, its all about money.

UF already loses a home game by having a neutral site game with UGA. In years where we play away OOC (take this past year for example) we only get 6 home games. The trend across college football is to get a minimum of 7 home games, **** some teams are even getting 8. I would love to play UM every year and I'm one who wishes the series would continue, but I understand why it doesn't.

All across college football the trends in schedules are obvious.

1 tough OOC game (FSU)
1 decent mid major (usually an upper echelon MAC caliber team)
2 OOC cupcakes
8 conference games

UF isn't doing anything any different than anybody else. UF's schedule is annually in the top 10 and yet people think they're afraid to play somebody.

Dude this argument goes both ways. They lose the home game in year's where it would be a home game, but they also lose an away game in year's when it would not be a home game. Lets also add that this neutral site game is still basically a home game for the Gators. I live in Jax. It's a gator town.

Know the story but they are not going to introduce legislation to make the two schools play now and they dont have to because both schools want the game

The neutral site thing has a lot more to do with finances than "home field" advantage how is this hard for some you to understand?

I have no problem with Florida not wanting to play Miami, I just find it comical that their fanbase will trumpet their SEC schedule as the reason why they schedule one of the most cupcake OOC schedules in the nation year in and year out.

The "we play in the SEC so we need weak OOC opponents" is a cop out, and a flat lie.

Not getting players is not the same as not wanting to get those players.

It is about $$$ but who has a harder schedule next year UF or UM?

The biggest problem with that argument is that when they started scheduling like that, the SEC was not that great.

The SEC took complete advantage of the BCS dropping Strength of Schedule from the BCS formula, there's absolutely no coincidence that their run on titles started the year after SOS was gone.
