Ga Tech Matchup

Let’s see Dawson call a complementary game rather than rely on Cam to make the big play. And see if Cam can take the check down more often than he doesn’t. Or at least just use the running backs on screens and tight ends more.

I was disappointed in Cam’s post game comments on the interception versus Duke. Now perhaps I misunderstood what he said, but when asked about it, he kind of blew it off like “that just happens”. That should never happen. You should never attempt that pass. He was fortunate the defensive back had to leap the catch the ball and fell down. Otherwise he might’ve had a pick six.

That’s not acceptable. And definitely not acceptable at the next level.
Happened to have the radio on when I got in the car from the game and he said “who cares?” when referring to the INT. He’s a pretty mature guy who is devoted to his craft so I think he meant that in the grand scheme of the win, it didn’t matter but it was a little odd to hear him say that.

The INT was inexcusable, especially when we had a chance to bury the game. I *****ed about it in the gameday thread.

Ward also hit a ton of great throws and was largely responsible for our win. His next two drives after that were impeccable.

What does call a complimentary game even mean? We were able to run the ball pretty much at will when and if we needed to.

I’m not saying you’re saying this but it definitely reads like a “we need 3.5 yards a cloud of dust on 42 attempts, short screens for 5 yards, and ToP of 52 mins in order to win games. Preferably 17-10 type games.”

We have the #1 offense in the nation.

Of course Cam, you, and I don’t want to see those dumb picks of him throwing it across his body 45 yards across the field and 35 yards deep. He’s a gunslinger, why would you want him not to do what he does best? He has shown all **** season he can make almost any throw and often will take what he needs when needed.

Trying to nitpick and say “He shouldn’t have thrown that TD to Restrepo because it could have been picked and won’t work at the next level.”

Well it wasn’t picked, in fact it put 6 points on the board. The Miami Hurricanes also don’t currently play NFL teams. Therefore it’s a moot point.

All of us want to see the TEs involved more but when you have the #1 offense and everybody is eating, not all your stars get to shine as brightly as possible. We have also seen Martinez be the release valve and get plenty of critical passes that go for a long way. That’s a good problem to have!

The offense will not be the sole or even main reason we lose game(s) this season.
The play calling was IMO skewed toward the pass late when it was likely we could have relied heavily on the run to run clock and limit possessions. Cam threw it 41 times and Martinez/Fletch had a combined 23 carries.

I can see that point but why take the foot off the gas? It also doesn't make sense when it's working.

If we had a defense worth a **** then I could see this argument working, however, that's not the case and teams seem to be able to score at will on us

I believe they are near dead last in sacks and QB pressures. Cam is going to have a field day.
Yup tied for 126th in sacks/game. TFL/game middle of the pack. They're bad at forcing turnovers too. Don't really get how their defensive havoc rate can be in 97th% - they must break up a lot of passes and/or force fumbles they don't recover. They're **** at not giving up explosive pass plays too. We just gotta stop the run and not turn the ball over and should win easy.

Belt to @ss

I watched a couple of their games, their defense is mid. Their offensive style is exactly what gives us trouble tho but lets see if they can keep up. Duke only gained momentum when we had those three straight 3 n outs, offense run it up and force them to be aggressive and then get some pressures, sacks and picks

From my eyes they use a ton of misdirection in their run game, get you running sideways and using that running game to suck in the safeties to hit explosives off the PA game to their small yet fast wideouts. The extra dimension is King running ability.

Yep their default style is what gives us problems, gotta be on point. If their qb was healthy they would be one of the top acc teams

GT calls those delayed QB draws up the A-gap, (I think that's up the Center) so if King is healthy then Sisco and Wesley better be on their A-game.

We shoulda put up 60. I’m ok with the offense

There were a couple of times I thought we should be running it but if you’re opting to let Cam Ward throw the ball to score points it’s never a bad idea

Yea we punted 4 times, 3 of them was misses by cam or just miscommunication's. Manny did give us some light boxes to run but still most of the stops were on us missing
