Ga Tech Matchup

I am not worried about losing. I already expect to be ****ed off about our defense getting abused for 3 quarters. The issue is their base O is what is killing us, shifts and misdirection with a running QB. They will probably throw way more than normal like everyone does on us as we will play man the whole 1st half.

Before the season started I was concerned about three games for different reasons.

UF - Gainesville and not knowing how good we'd be at the beginning
Louisville - Brohm is a heck of coach, bye week and it being at their place
GT - Scappy team that plays us tough typically and them having a bye week before us as well.

We obviously passed the first two test. After seeing the products on the field this game still concerns me. They use a lot of pre snap motion and their line is pretty solid. Hopefully the offense is on again this week. Going to probably need to score 40+ to win this week as usual.

I believe they are near dead last in sacks and QB pressures. Cam is going to have a field day.

I agree with everyone’s concerns. Games are getting bigger, room for error smaller etc.

The biggest worry I have, besides our defense, is their bye week and now the threat of rain, which usually affects the more talented offensive team, us.

But, we do have the revenge factor working for us and this is what keeps me sane when I stress about this game……

We have Cam.

It’s not TVD. Or García. Or any of the many scrubs we’ve had over the years.

We have the best player in college football. And he plays for us.

With that being said, I also think our defense is due for a good game. Just the law of averages.

So, maybe we hold them in the 20’s. More than enough to win. Even in the rain.

Some of the GT fans on X aren't so confident he'll be back. I'd expect their coach to keep that info close to the vest either way as a little gamesmanship. I've heard the injury is right shoulder related so even if he does play you'd think he might not be as crisp and could even be a little more hesitant to run. I'd love to see one of our DEs or LBs come up and pop him real good early on and rattle him a bit
Coach key is the Caucasian version of Cristobal he’s going to dope him up and throw him out there because he’s tuff.

I mean in week 9 we should all know by now anyone injured or questionable is going to come out and play us. Just like the cal and va tech running back. We are always going to have the kitchen sink thrown at us personnel and play calling wise.

The same guy who had 1 td 2 ints last year and one rushing td for 44 yards after being sacked 5 times by us and won on a fluke this qb we have isn’t a idiot like Tyler yes gt will fight but we will be dialed in on them this isn’t a game anybody in Miami will not have circled Mario is maniacal and wants his get back and cam ward is with all the smoke our defensive backs aren’t shut down but we need turnovers and this game will get out of hand quickly I respect your take but we want this game badly this is not a trap game this is another revenge game
my only response it our defense this year is nowhere near last year

Let’s see Dawson call a complementary game rather than rely on Cam to make the big play. And see if Cam can take the check down more often than he doesn’t. Or at least just use the running backs on screens and tight ends more.

I was disappointed in Cam’s post game comments on the interception versus Duke. Now perhaps I misunderstood what he said, but when asked about it, he kind of blew it off like “that just happens”. That should never happen. You should never attempt that pass. He was fortunate the defensive back had to leap the catch the ball and fell down. Otherwise he might’ve had a pick six.

That’s not acceptable. And definitely not acceptable at the next level.

There will be some up and downs in this game.
But the team we have right now is built different.

There is absolutely no way we leave ATL without beating the **** out of GT ..

I feel sorry for the bad guys this weekend.

It does just happen...though

When you compete at a very high level, you take risks, and sometimes it does not go your way.

Throwing the ball off-balance across the field is never taught to anyone. Granted, some quarterbacks think they can and a few may get away with it once in a while, but no.

Throw the ball away and then line up for the next play.

I dont need to qualify myself here. but im 44 years old and been FLYING from NYC to Orange Bowl games since im 12. Ive watched as much or more Canes football through our dynasties, and through FIU or Middle Tennessee State. Relax tiger we are 9-0, and have done nothing for 20 years. My team does not get benefit of doubt just because im a fan. My post was an opinion that this game scares me for a few reasons, the coach, the Qb, the bye week, the WoW regression on defense. I think we still win, but a close game, and I said id take GT with the points. Didnt predict a loss. merely an opinion that I hope we play sharp because i expect a close game.

This game scares me. Ga Tech has a great coaching staff with 2 weeks to prepare coming off a bye week. Haynes King is going to play as the coach continues to be so “vague” that it seems obvious hes playing. King is a problem for us, as hes mobile, and accurate at 72% and only one INT. This kid will pick us apart with 2 weeks preparing for us. Miami needs to be comfortable having a target- and getting every teams “super bowl” effort since they have nothing to lose, and search for a season defining win. They will have trick plays, go for it on 4th down, take risks usually teams will not. But giving that staff 2 weeks to target our obvious holes, plus the low spread, should SCARE us all. The coaches, and the QB are going to give us a very difficult game. I would even take the 12.5 points if I were betting on this. I will be happy to get out of this game with a win. I sure hope this team is dialed in, as the other team will play their best game of the season.
Wake us up when you grow a pair. We will beat GT. We will cover, we handled Haynes King last year and if we took a knee we would have beaten them. TVD had three turnovers on top of that. Sit back and relax.

What does call a complimentary game even mean? We were able to run the ball pretty much at will when and if we needed to.

I’m not saying you’re saying this but it definitely reads like a “we need 3.5 yards a cloud of dust on 42 attempts, short screens for 5 yards, and ToP of 52 mins in order to win games. Preferably 17-10 type games.”

We have the #1 offense in the nation.

Of course Cam, you, and I don’t want to see those dumb picks of him throwing it across his body 45 yards across the field and 35 yards deep. He’s a gunslinger, why would you want him not to do what he does best? He has shown all **** season he can make almost any throw and often will take what he needs when needed.

Trying to nitpick and say “He shouldn’t have thrown that TD to Restrepo because it could have been picked and won’t work at the next level.”

Well it wasn’t picked, in fact it put 6 points on the board. The Miami Hurricanes also don’t currently play NFL teams. Therefore it’s a moot point.

All of us want to see the TEs involved more but when you have the #1 offense and everybody is eating, not all your stars get to shine as brightly as possible. We have also seen Martinez be the release valve and get plenty of critical passes that go for a long way. That’s a good problem to have!

The offense will not be the sole or even main reason we lose game(s) this season.
