I think (know) she loved athletics I think (know) she made really bad decisions though. Good intent horrible executionI took her class. Actions speak louder than words man.

Plenty of CEOs have been fired before only to land somewhere else and excel. He deserves to be gone and that doesn’t mean he won’t do a good job for those that have different needs at a different time. Personally, I hope he does well, not because I give a **** about him, but because my wife is a UCLA grad and I don’t want to hear her yelling like I’ve been for the last nine years.Yes so, I see this is an upgrade in regard to reputation. Perhaps Miami was overpaying him. Some argue that Mario is overpaid LOL as well.
you're*actually youre wrong. she did care about athletics, the issue was she got too involved. anyone who took her class would tell you she absolutely loved UM athletics.
she cared more about sports than Frenk ever did. you dont want your president making hiring decisions, which is the issue with DS. she tried to hire barry alvarez here when she got here but obviously players wanted Larry Coker.
i think this is false. michigan, UNC, Viriginia, Berkeley (vomit) are more bettererI think UCLA is rated as the top public university in the country.
Wonder how quickly things start happening now because that was the first thing I thought when you started factoring the timing of him being done immediately yet not starting at UCLA until next year, and then the immediate title to Joe…. Perhaps we actually sue the ACC ourselves now?Exactly.
Read betwixt the lines.
many different lists of course. but here is US Newsi think this is false. michigan, UNC, Viriginia, Berkeley (vomit) are more betterer
Exactly. She inherited a university with the #1 football program in the world who played in an iconic stadium of its own and coached by one Butch Davis... and under her tenure we hired Larry Coker, Randy Shannon, Al Golden. She invested $0 in football, was instrumental in tearing the Orange Bowl to rubble, and she never lifted a finger to built us a replacement stadium. She didn't invest in any facilities. Then there's the famous picture of her accepting a check from Nevin Shapiro.
Shalala was as much of a train wreck for Miami as anyone could be. If she wasn't actively trying to destroy the football program, then she just bungled it up so badly I don't know if we should laugh or cry. We're STILL digging our way out of the hole she put us in.
That's her legacy.
He's Gone. Just got announced as Chancellor of UCLA. Hopefully the next president makes our move to the P2 more of a priority.
partially her fault and partially the City'sWhat actions?!
The Orange Bowl was not her fault.

Usnwr is extremely biased toward the California schools and once upon a time it may of been right. I for one would never send my kids to learn under those entitled moronic professors and even worse the administration of those schools.i think this is false. michigan, UNC, Viriginia, Berkeley (vomit) are more betterer
many different lists of course. but here is US News
not sure who the paid off to get to #1 but no way it is better academically than virginia michigan or UNCUCLA is ranked as the #15 overall in the nation in academics, & T-1st for public universities w/ Cal.
Actually, it’s mostly correct. If you use US news latest rankings, Berkeley is one spot ahead of UCLA. The others all trail UCLA.i think this is false. michigan, UNC, Viriginia, Berkeley (vomit) are more betterer
How would you actually even know, because you feel like it’s not better? It’s been this way for a long time by people whose professional jobs it is are to measure it - and while I am sure there may be other rankings that look at things fairly differently, US news and world report is the most widely used one, and also one of the ones that help bring Julio down as we started falling down the rankings.not sure who the paid off to get to #1 but no way it is better academically than virginia michigan or UNC

you already some dudes hate on Joe E. bc of his political ties lol.UCLA has the highest number of applicants and it’s not even close w/ a low acceptance rate. They are internationally renowned, friend, & have one of the best law schools in the nation (although UVA, Cal, & UofM have surged passed them there).
I understand it’s hard to fathom for ya’ll East Coasters to get how a school out West can be so academically inclined since we’re in such a liberal state, but get over it. UCLA’s education is top notch w/ kids from all over the world clamoring to get in. My little cousin was rejected from UCLA & had to “settle” for Michigan. She was rejected from UCLA again, & had to “settle” for USC.
What time did your email come in? OP was 12:45 and mine showed up a little after 1:00Oh thank God. Thanks for letting us know.
