Yawn - 99% of us aren't calling for Golden's head.
Get off your high horse.
It doesn't take half a decade to turn around a football team. Golden has already shown that he doesn't have what it takes to succeed here. The sooner he's fired the better. We're not going anywhere with him.
Scapegoating D'onofrio won't change the fact that Golden is not the guy.
Golden has recruited well, which is why your argument makes no sense.
We have talent. He just can't coach them to their full potential.

I guess you are part of the 1%

The number is much higher than 1%.
I don't care that i'm in the minority. I was one of the first ones to say Shannon wasn't the guy either. People are just in denial.
Within the 10 weeks, we will find out exactly what Golden's intentions are with the program. One, we will know if he is stubborn enough to keep Dorito and this has been discussed ad nauseam. We all know the deal. Second, If we keep this class together and even flip a couple of other guys out there and bring in the class we think we can, we are already that much better just by subtracting last years bonafide dumpster fire of a senior class and substituting play makers all over the place.
I think, just by looking at the roster, we are looking at 2015 as a resurgence into something tangible. Next year will be a disaster on defense no matter who is in charge. Our offense has the potential to be fantastic, but holy cow at the defense. We might be the worst defense in college football even with a fresh DC with a more aggressive philosophy. If its still Dorito and his sprint backwards on roller skates D, then we could set some serious records. I might watch out of pure amusement.
But even with all that, 2 more recruiting classes, along with Golden using the waiver wire and bringing in JUCO's I think we'll be fine in 14 and make some serious noise in 15. Just my .02 pesos.
Donofrio is staying. Is he the best D coordinator in the world? Of course he is not. Yet he is pretty darn good.
So wht do you say about his D being 17th Nationally and pass D 14 Th nationally @ Temple? Anyone can put up a GIF and bring nothing to the table. But the guy produced at a crappy *** school and had players drafted FROM TEMPLE IN THE NFL!. Now imagine when he gets these 2 classes at the junior and senior level.
Newflash...once it gets to the point where the fanbase is divided on a guy it's usually downhill from there. They're divided for a reason, namely because the results, 3 years in, have been divided at best.

There is some truth to this statement and although I think Golden is the guy, he is fighting a huge uphill battle right now. He has already lost a huge portion of the fanbase and will play **** getting them back.
That is a big problem moving forward, considering our fanbase is already pathetic in terms of support as it is.

Well there is still a possibility that he keeps Dorito and succeeds here. No doubt Al is at a crossroads.
That crossroad has a road to the left without Onfrio and a road to the right with Onfrio. What he decides this offseason is going to seal his fate. You simply cannot justify another year for a coordinator who is THIS bad.
It's simple in my eyes, if Al is stupid/stubborn enough to bring back Onfrio then he simply is in over his head. I like the guy and want him to succeed here...but there's simply no room for that type of nonsense at a program this big.
If it's a matter of just collecting talent - then talent could congregate and no coach required.
Mark D'onofrio will cost Golden his job.
I don't see Golden making the correct decision and firing him. Giving up 500 yards to Duke, VT, Pitt and whoever else these last few weeks in year 3 is unacceptable.
If he's back next season then Golden has signed his own death certificate.

Shoot yourself in the face and choose another team to root for. Since when is mediocrity the standard, or even acceptable at the U?
I mean honestly...anyone citing their "sucesses" at Temple just doesn't get it. They beat NOBODY during their tenure at Temple. I know the Don Bailey Jr disciples will cry and scream "It's Temple"....well guess what...they're still Temple. It's not like he took them to anywhere of significance. Beating bad teams doesn't make you a great coach, it makes you the prettiest fat girl.
We beat 1 team with a winning record so far this year. You know what that means? It means we go down in history as one of THE worst 9 win teams in history. It's a sham.
I swear this is the Shannon/Coker denial period all over again. We saw similar posts over on Grassy during the end of both of those tenures where people kept defending and making excuses. Morons and apologist would cite Coker's overall record and his national title, Idiots would yell that Shannon needed more time....
