Finally Admit Lanning > Mario

Bruh the defensive coordinator lost us this game point blank period..now if you want to blame Mario for hiring him then fine but yall loved him last year
So, the DC could do a decent job with last year's talent, but not this year's talent. Hmmm. Maybe our head coach, who is known as a great recruiter and team builder, didn't get the DC the players he needed to get better results. Where are our LBs and DBS? We kicked Corey Flagg to the curb, and he goes out and puts up career numbers at Missouri. SMU's D looks better than ours, with some of our "scrubs" that Mario didn't want getting significant time.

Yes, we should fire Guidry, because this was pathetic. However, it's pathetic because our team building master planner couldn't put a decent D together.

Are you a politician? It's a simple question. No one wins 10 games by accident. Who is responsible for that?
Yes, Mario led us to 10 wins against an easy schedule, but so what? Manny led Duke to 9 wins. Mario also led us to several blowout losses in year 1, the embarrassing loss to GT last year, and BLEW a 21 point lead against Syracuse with an ACCCG appearance and CFP on the line. Great, we won 10 games and Mario can go lose another bowl game

So 10 wins were automatic because of the schedule?

It's a simple concept, but it makes you mad. We are one of very few teams that will win 10 games. If that's not good enough, get used to an ongoing cycle of head coaches for another 20 years.

Sadly, I'm not sure anyone can
Miami has
Anyone who ever argued this is legit retarded
Oregon has been unequivocally a better program then Miami the last 10-15 years so I don’t get what the comparison is.. this team was in the gutter culturally when Cristobal took over, no excitement for the future of the program whatsoever before he got here.

How about losing to freaking GT 2 years in a row...dude didn't learn to take a knee at Oregon and did the same thing here last year. He only had to win 1 of 2 vs GT and Syracuse to make the ACCCG.

Yeah, we went from 7-5 to 10-2 this year with the easiest schedule one could ever hope for and a GENERATIONAL QB and still didn't get it done.

Football is a team game played in 3 phases...yea, we have a generational QB but what about the other two phases of the game?

GT took UGA the distance last night and has more balance than we do as a TEAM. Our offense is championship-level but our team isn't; with how poorly our defense plays []__[] can't tolerate turnovers and personal fouls that compromise scoring drives.

Sucks, but it is what it is...

They’ll tell you Mario built Oregon. They’ll say Oregon has more money. They’ll blame manny. He’ll need more time to develop relationships. But what they won’t say is that Lanning is a first time head coach. Turned over the roster from Mario’s. Currently has a better recruiting class (ranking) and has apparently built relationships.

So anyone saying he’s (Lanning) not better is high.

No, 10 wins is good, but I don't accept the fact we lost a game we were up 21 points in with an ACCCG and CFP at stake. If you do, good for you

Do we fire every future head coach who isn't as good as Dan Lanning? What's the point here?

And who by chance is the one responsible for roster management and player development? Who is the one who hired the defensive staff? This is year 3 and with NIL and the transfer portal there is no excuse for having an atrocious defense and special teams. Mario can only focus on 1 thing at a time, hence the reason we stopped recruiting visits the last 2 weeks to prepare for the final 2 games.

I don't think anything changes whether you "accept it" or not. But you had playoff expectations because our head coach built the team that put us in that position. You're ready to throw that out. For who, I don't know.

So in your opinion this is all strictly a personnel issue ? OJ keeps getting cooked in man coverage with no help over the top and Guidry refuses to put safety help over the top lol..I thought a coordinators job is to put his players in the best position to be successful and call the right plays... do you think Guidry did a good job of that today ??

They all suck. We have very little talent on D, and that's directly on the head coach who is supposedly good at one thing. Recruiting. Guidry didn't do a good job today, or this season. Mario didn't do a good job putting a D together. They are both bad.

The guy who won 10 games. That's what I've been asking you. You can't have it both ways.
Great, we won 10 games and blew a 21-point lead, largest comeback in Syracuse history, with everything on the line. Guess we can give Mario a BOZO button for getting us to 10 wins in year 3. And yet Manny and Duke won 9 games, so Mario is 1 game better than Manny. Woo Hoo

Bingo, we have a WINNER

Many on here say Mario left Lanning a great situation, but the #s say otherwise as far as # of transfers Lanning has made in his tenure to improve his roster. This was year 3 of Mario and Lanning is running circles around him again. Oregon got the better of the deal with Mario coming here
Mario left a sure thing to come home a rebuild his passion. Lanning aint winning s*it

Well, you can't this deep in an investment, whether its a good or bad return on it.

He's here for a few more years, so.... 🤷🏿‍♂️
