The hyper-polarization here is nothing new and, unfortunately, it results in most threads being derailed into ego-driven, insult-laden ****ing contests between those cemented on polar opposite sides of the spectrum. ****, I contributed to that as much as anyone as a “mope” during the last few years of Golden’s tenure while a dwindling but vocal contingent of posters vehemently defended him against any and all criticism until the bitter end.
No one should have a problem with posters who praise the positives but also raise valid concerns regarding QB, WR, and CB recruiting. When some of us questioned or criticized
the Gattis hire last year, some posters reacted with their usual belligerent condescension. We all saw how that turned out. This board shouldn't be an echo chamber of groupthink where anyone who steps out of line is mocked, especially since some of the same people who loudly and arrogantly crapped on others for opposing the likes of Golden, Diaz, and Gattis never admit they were wrong while having the audacity to continue claiming everyone else is an idiot.
I fully understand those wanting to put the last 20 years as a Miami fan behind them and trust Cristobal's process. Negativity is exhausting and this is a full-blown rebuild. Mario will have plenty of time to try to turn this thing around from instilling a new culture to landing as much premier talent as possible, which are his greatest skills. I assume most would agree he’s not a coach who provides a schematic advantage on gamedays nor does he do more with less, so it's gonna require patience.
Hopefully, we have a great weekend and land some studs. I guarantee we won't see any more criticism of WR recruiting if we start landing guys like Ryan Wingo and Drelon Miller.
