Less turnovers, one more Off rebound, +5 from the FT line, same % from three, transition points were close, points off turnovers were close. The game came down to making shots. UCONN did, Miami didn’t.
From the ESPN shot chart, we missed 16 shots in the paint.
7 of 23 total.

Running the gauntlet of March madness is maddening….I have a March madness hangover. In some ways I feel complete because this game showed us just where we have to go to get to the mountaintop but boy did we almost get there.

My one hope is that all our new fans translates into support for this program on an ongoing basis. This truly will help in recruiting and give us all more a sense of community.

Agreed. I hope it’s not just bandwagon fans hopping on and off. This program needs and deserves more consistent support.

A Message from President Julio Frenk

April 1, 2023

Dear Miami Hurricanes, Everywhere,

What a run!

Our Men’s Basketball team has had an exciting and historic ride all the way to the NCAA Final Four. The grit, determination, and resilience with which our student athletes have played this season, and during this tournament, are to be admired. We are proud of you.

This year, our Women’s Basketball team also made history by earning their way into the NCAA Elite Eight, and by all measures, we can proclaim that the University of Miami is now among the top schools for basketball in the nation.

Coach Larrañaga, Coach Meier, Dan Radakovich, and the entire athletics department: We are grateful for all the hard work, guidance, and encouragement you dedicate to helping these young people to succeed.

Thank you, especially, to the ’Canes community both near and far, whose support for our student athletes is unending. Your spirit can be felt from across the globe.

Please join me in congratulating our ’Canes Basketball teams.

It’s great to be a Miami Hurricane!

I think we were getting there even a decade ago.. The timing was perfect as the Lebron/Wade era already had miami in bball state of mind.. But the scandal did a number on the program.. Having familiar faces return for next season should help overall also

great season

need to recruit a BIG from the portal who can play with or behind Norchad

work with Casey this offseason

too much praise by Coach L for Wooga; Wooga needs to work on his dribbling

equipment manager needs to ALWAYS have back-up shoes for each player

wish Ant and Harlond the best, but they need to move on

Ant is probably a great young man but not a true back-up basketball player for a top team

Coach L did a great job this season but I thought the team was not prepared for tonight’s game and that is on him

this team brought me so much happiness this year

thank you to Coach L and all the players
I'd spend more time here if there was a dislike button. Some good takes, but blaming the coach for this is insane.

We don’t get here without Wooga who was great the second half of the year. He developed as much as anyone in recent history from a Fr to soph. He’s been automatic on FT’s, open threes and solid with mid range. Improved on the drive. His handle needs work but id expect another jump with his work ethic. He deserved every bit of of the love he’s gotten. One game doesn’t change that.
Absolutely. He has one tough game and certain people turn on him, which is ridiculous but the same thing they do with Pack, Wong and others. No one plays great every game. The other team has guys on scholarship and NIL plus great coaches too.

Student section was absolutely filled. We had twice the number as the other 3 schools. Of course we lost 1/3 at half time down by 13 which is the Miami student way.

I think the foundation is set to be an annual tournament team. Obvious where we need portal help but Miami should be a great destination point for top players in the portal.
