Figatron and Jawand Blue

Indeed, for those who thought it thru, your opinion is shared. For those who did not think it thru and did the negative Cane fan knee jerk, this is as bad as Shapiro, bad move. Thankfully it appears we have more thoughtful fans than over reacting knee jerking negative fans. I hope it is ok to say Go Canes!!

BWCD is a prophet. Recruiting is getting killed by this.
Hey...I'm thrilled to admit I was incorrect. I jumped to a conclusion given worst case scenario from what I saw. I'm absolutely tickled that we got Scarlett and Bruce tonight, and that we may get Snelson this weekend. So, mea culpa. I'm a man of my word and will rep those who disagreed with me.

Now, I still think that this will be used to negative recruit against us. It will be something that Golden and the staff will have to answer questions about. Thankfully, due to the swift actions taken, they should have a good answer for recruits and their families.

I really don't see how they'd have to answer questions about this case. It's pretty cut and dry. Two young men performed a heinous act on their own accord, during their own time, and Golden has to answer for this? Makes absolutely no sense.

UM could not have handled this quicker and better. Nothing to see here anymore.
I'm not repping this dipsh1t, for the record. He can kindly GFY.

This is some bull ****. Come on man...they got to be better than that. Really hope it didn't go down like that.

it is always somewhere in the middle where the truth is but this situation is so messed up that even in the middle is still jail time.

No, it is not "always somewhere in the middle." this isn't a petty disagreement. Criminals do rape completely innocent victims.

They confessed so they must have done some wrong. They have no place on this team. Don't care how good they are.

Our recent record with out of state linebackers getting suspebxed is horrendous.

The university should be lauded for its approach to this. Most universities simply ignore it, shame the victim, and move on.

He may not be everyone's favorite, but this is a good take on the subject.

the staff will not have to answer for this all fall when hosting recruits or visiting recruits home. it's a non issue. there is nothing to talk about. no one will remember in 3-4 months. it's an isolated incident and it was dealt with. no other coach out there can really use it against UM. stop already.

i'm not looking, but, can anyone answer how big of a story this is today nationally? is this all they are talking about the news and espn?

No one is going to use this to negative recruit.

First, this can too easily happen at any school, and frequently does.

Second, we aren't recruiting someone's daughter, and I highly doubt any parent is going to ask how safe their sons ****hole is in the showers*.

* Had Golden gotten that job at PSU he would likely have had to answer this question on a frequent basis.

The Lebron-a-thon is still the focal point, then world cup kickball. Blake lucked out.

\\Pay the man his money.

Why would they just up and confess to something like this? I am not saying they did not do this, but if I am in their position no way I confess. These things can be hard to prove.

so bwcd was wrong. it's not on national airwaves for weeks.
Did I not say I was incorrect and own up to it? I repped everyone else but you because you've been a straight up **** about it. Well, you and txcanes.

And I still think we'll have to answer this question, because not everyone follows the situation as closely as we do. If some recruit's mom who doesn't watch the first minute of ESPN, nor reads on here or the Herald...but hears from Bay-Bay the Gheytor/Nole at the hair salon that Miami's football team is full of date rapists...you had better bet the question will get asked of Golden.

We can agree to disagree that it won't ever come up ever ever ever again...but you don't have to be a prick about it...especially when I owned up to being incorrect.

Are people still seriously giving my boy Blue ****? He's already admitted that this isn't going to have the impact he initially thought. He thought the national media would go nuts when it was revealed two Miami football players doubled up, drugged, and raped a minor. It's not a giant leap.

It was idiotic to even think it was going to be a big deal to begin with.
I doubt golden will answer it at all as I think the class, at this rate, will be mostly wrapped up by oct/nov (there will always be the usually defections/additions.

He was operating under the premise that the national media would make a giant issue of this. They obviously aren't, and he's admitted he misjudged it. I just caught a clip of Sen. Claire McCaskill on MSNBC talking about sexual assaults on college campuses with athletes, and this recent thing with us never got mentioned at all.

It wasn't even a giant leap by him to begin with since the national media has made fatigues, a rap song, and non-existent abortions a problem for us.

"Maybe she drugged and raped them first?"- Nigel Bethel

Boom. Close the thread.
