Figatron and Jawand Blue

so bwcd was wrong. it's not on national airwaves for weeks.
Did I not say I was incorrect and own up to it? I repped everyone else but you because you've been a straight up **** about it. Well, you and txcanes.

And I still think we'll have to answer this question, because not everyone follows the situation as closely as we do. If some recruit's mom who doesn't watch the first minute of ESPN, nor reads on here or the Herald...but hears from Bay-Bay the Gheytor/Nole at the hair salon that Miami's football team is full of date rapists...you had better bet the question will get asked of Golden.

We can agree to disagree that it won't ever come up ever ever ever again...but you don't have to be a prick about it...especially when I owned up to being incorrect.

A Nole is really going to bring the topic up with all the sh*t that happened with Winston?

Who's to stop them? While the Trailerhassee stuff was in and of itself a sh1tstorm, Winston hasn't caught any charges out of it--and is still on the team.

Our guys have (allegedly) turned themselves in, and admitted that they at least fed this girl alcohol until she was unable to resist, then raped her orally/vaginally/anally. They're suspended from the school and from the team.

Again...I'm saying that those who are not as well-versed on what steps we took when this happened are the ones that will try to use this. Some random Nole/Gheytor fan that are just trying to talk **** about Miami in the hopes that something negative sticks. For example: "Your boy is considering the Canes? You want HIM to go play with those bunch of rapists?" Unsolicited w/o details. Then the parent(s) have to ask about that.

It may not amount to anything, but if a mother or father of a recruit hears about this through that kind of filter, then they could certainly have this as a worry to bring up to Golden or another coach on the staff recruiting their son. It's just another question that, while not as bad as the NCAA issues, is negative enough that the coaches will have to contend with it and answer for it. Thankfully...they can point to how it was handled, and disavow the actions.

I'm not saying it will happen with every recruit, I'm saying it could happen with some who are not as plugged in as others, but hears that we have rapists on the team from some random idiot.

It was idiotic to even think it was going to be a big deal to begin with.
I doubt golden will answer it at all as I think the class, at this rate, will be mostly wrapped up by oct/nov (there will always be the usually defections/additions.
He was operating under the premise that the national media would make a giant issue of this. They obviously aren't, and he's admitted he misjudged it. I just caught a clip of Sen. Claire McCaskill on MSNBC talking about sexual assaults on college campuses with athletes, and this recent thing with us never got mentioned at all.

It wasn't even a giant leap by him to begin with since the national media has made fatigues, a rap song, and non-existent abortions a problem for us.
This. All of this. That's where my reaction (albeit too quick and wrong thus far) came from.

Was I too quick and reactionary? Sure--I'll continue to own that on this topic. Idiotic? No, and GFY.

dan, sorry, it was him against everyone else, so, yeah, it was a leap when everyone else who knows just a little bit about college football and recruiting tried telling him and he was adamant he was right. so, when its you vs the world, bet on the world.

Having an unpopular opinion on the subject doesn't make me automatically wrong and everyone else automatically right, douchecanoe. I defended my stance, and owned up to it when I was shown to be wrong about it possibly affecting last night's announcements.

I don't know what more you want. I know a little bit (well, more than that) about CFB/Recruiting myself, and I made a quick reactionary assertion...plain and simple. So, again--GFY for trying to call me "idiotic" or question my knowledge as some sort of little jab on this.

idiotic. "we are gonna answer for this for months and lose several recruits and it will be national headlines for weeks. it's as bad as the cloud."

Kinda like when Bullishnole said Lorenzo Booker would get drafted, you said no way, and you bet him $100 he wouldn't? How'd that work out for you you mental giant? The day you finally honor that bet you welched on, is the day you can call other people stupid.

Let's look at what I actually said.

I disagree. They could both still announce for Miami tonight, but as this story gets traction in the media and eventually on ESPN...watch what happens.

Unless it gets played up bigtime how well James and the University handled this with swift/quick action to dismiss them from the team and from school, the story will be that two Miami players drugged and raped a 17-year-old girl orally/vaginally/anally. Folks will be in Bruce/Scarlett's ears, and will be dying to use this to turn them from the school.

The timing of this sucks balls. I never want it to happen at all, but for this to break THE DAY OF Bruce/Scarlett's announcements...there will be an impact on their ultimate destination EVEN if they verbally commit to us tonight.

This will affect all recruits as well. Who knows how big this story will get, and if James/the University will get any credit for how they handled it. If it gets bad, we could be just as fvcked as we were under "The Cloud".
I never said we would "lose recruits". I said that this could affect them and how the staff has to recruit them.

I said that as the story gains traction (which it still could if the right Yahoo! writer gets a hold of it), that we could see some repercussions in trying to recruit the 15/16 classes. It did not affect Bruce/Scarlett's announcements last night, and I was wrong on that. And I've owned it.

I never said it would be "national headlines for weeks". I thought it would be bigger on the news than it has ended up, which surprises me, but as Dan and myself pointed out--given the history of how bad things related to Miami normally get reported...I wasn't taking a big leap.

I never said "it's as bad as the cloud". I said: "If it gets bad, we could be just as fvcked as we were under "The Cloud". It didn't get as bad as I initially thought...but if it had, then the impact could have been "Cloud-like", given again, how the media normally loves to take Miami to task for anything negative.

As far as "we are gonna answer for this for months"...technically, you're close. I think this could still get brought up as we go through some kids' recruitments either by the recruits or their parents/handlers, especially if they're misinformed. There's nothing to prove me right nor you wrong on that front.

So three things here:

1) Learn how to read.
2) Don't put ******* words in my mouth.
3) GFY.

i'll do what i want and say what i want and there isn't one thing you would ever do about it.
You could be graceful and STFU, or you can keep running your yapper about how knowledgeable you are, and prove that you aren't.

U are playing word semantics, u simpleton. I didn't quote u word for word, but, it's essentially what u said.
There is no story for some yahoo writer to get a hold of. It's a non story. What is wrong with u?

"As bad as the cloud" isn't the same as "we could be fvcked as bad as we were under the cloud." Really?

No, you took what I was saying and tagged absolutes onto it. Me saying those things in absolutes would have been "idiotic". I simply didn't do that, and the evidence is in black and white smacking you in the face. It's not called "playing semantics" when you just completely fvck up what I actually said.

Instead of going off of what you feel I "essentially" said, I showed you what I actually said. Go home, you're drunk.

There is no story for some yahoo writer to get a hold of. It's a non story. What is wrong with u?
I'm saying that the media could indeed twist it and try to make us look bad. That's not a major leap at all...and it could (READ: COULD, not will) still happen.

Nothing's wrong with me. You on the other hand need some help with reading comprehension instead of trying to read into things and put your own spin on it too much.

"As bad as the cloud" isn't the same as "we could be fvcked as bad as we were under the cloud." Really?
When you read the whole sentence that I said as a qualifying statement "If it gets bad" in front of it...then no. It doesn't. Again...learn how to ******* read, numbnuts.

i'll do what i want and say what i want and there isn't one thing you would ever do about it.

He's going to do the same thing most of us here do and that is keep believing you're a man with no honor.Your word is worthless and a man with no word is not really a man.

Lmao. Great stuff. 5x will never live that down

In the penultimate sentence in the last paragraph, they admit to performing sexual acts WITHOUT HER CONSENT. Another way of saying they have admitted to raping her.

Obviously, this does not align with our core values.

No sir, you don't understand a police report. The first paragraph highlights that being drunk of alcohol alters her way of thinking, a.k.a her consent.

If they admitted they had *** with her while she was drunk, then the police offer could plainly label that as them admitting to have *** with her without her consent, especially if she had been talking to the police beforehand.

The guys can't say really if she consented, unless she repeatedly said no, and that is no where in the police report.

Police write up these reports a certain way for a reason. I am sure there is a recording of what they actually admitted to.

It says, "The Defendants then admitted to performing sexual acts on the victim without her consent." If this is an accurate representation of their statements, then they have admitted to rape.

The following is not meant to defend or excuse in anyway what may have happened, just as comparison of charges and outcomes.

From the Herald article"
"In May 2011, Hurricanes freshman defensive lineman Jeffrey Brown was booted from the team after being accused of sexual battery on a helpless victim and admitting to Coral Gables police he had *** with a severely-intoxicated female student in a campus dorm. Those charges were eventually downgraded to false imprisonment and Brown was asked to serve three years probation, complete a *** therapy program and perform 100 hours of community service."

I always believe in hearing all the evidence before condemning anyone. Things are not always what they seem.

Did Jeff Brown admit to the act? I assume he did not. Different cases.

And you get to vote?
People are too dumb to see things right in front of them

Had a conversation with a friend directly involved with the Miami hurricane football program. He told me that although fig was extremely talented and was known for big hits, his teammates had called him out about "one great play and three bad plays is not how it's done" it seems his inability or desire to read his keys was ****ing some people off. I am told there was a altercation( non physical ) with his defensive teammates in the spring that did not go well. Ever since then it's been going down hill. Was not trusted by coaching staff or teammates not to freelance. Beast on special teams but Thurston would play most meaningful downs. On the other hand Blue was really improving in the spring and was getting consideration for real playing time. For what it is worth I thought I would pass it on. ( not making light of there crime just passing on football information)
