Figatron and Jawand Blue

Way overblown with the drama there. Two players committed a crime and were quickly and decisively dismissed from the team. To say this could be as bad as "the Cloud" is just silly. All of the criminal problems at other schools, in which those schools didn't handle it nearly as well as UM did, certainly haven't hurt their recruiting.
I may be overreacting, and if it turns out that I did--I'll own up to it in front of everyone on here, and that's a promise. I'm not afraid of that.

However, this is going to be bad. There's no way to turn it around and make it good once the narrative hits ESPN...especially with the details rolling out. This will be used against us by anyone and everyone who feels like trying to use it.

why dont we see how ESPN reports it, for all we know they will say it was a great move by the program to dismiss them
From your lips to Haysoos' ears, but I doubt it. Some other school--maybe that might be the narrative they roll with. At Miami? It's Miami boys being bad again...cha-ching! Ratings and scandal. Who cares if Blue/Figs both are from Virginia...it's South Florida violence run wild again.

If you guys are right, and this blows over quickly, I'll come back and rep all of you...that's a promise. If not, then I don't want reps/negs either way...I'll be ****ed off enough watching it unfold.

I do NOT want to be right here, but I have a feeling this isn't going to be a "one day story".

Blue is not from VA.

It's been in the college football section for a half hour.

apparently there is a reason figs wound up at prep school. like i said before, his twitter always had a lot of stuff about *** and crap. He might be half a weirdo. ***** him and blue, this girl's dignity is worth more than a starting linebacker nod on a depth chart.

the school hasnt done anything wrong, so why would they spin it like they did?

Honestly, what is even worse is that the "victim" was underage...regardless if they raped her or not, the fact that she is underage is what will get them booted off of the team.

The report said juvenile, but then said all parties involved are UM students.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the whole, "innocent until proven guilty," aspect of our judicial system.
Burden of proof is on the prosecution and not the defendant.

Let's not rush to judgement until actual facts are known.

problem with that idea, which i support, is that the perps voluntarily walked into the coral gables police dept this morning to confess to the crime.

My fault--I fvcked that one up. Figs is, though.

They also ADMITTED to the crimes. What else do you want???

Allegedly.

First and foremost: obviously, if this is true, these dudes deserve what they have coming. That said, innocent until proven guilty is the way it's set up. And it's not like there's never been anyone wrongfully accused, or nobody's ever been alleged to have admitted something only to find out later that it's not true (whether statements were misinterpreted, fabricated, or otherwise).

Ever seen My Cousin Vinny? "I shot the clerk...I shot the clerk." It happens.

If I had to guess, these guys are toast and probably should be. But it's a guess. No doubt this all looks about as bad as it gets in terms of initial reports. But it's easy to rush to judgment. I remember about a week ago social media was going nuts trying to save the "father" in Georgia that left his kid in the car. Now, as more information comes out, everyone's ready to crucify him.

We'll see how this goes, but so far it's ugly.

Wow! Alot of guys rushing to judgment here. How about we hear the facts first. Quite frankly, girls nowadays, you never know. We though JWinston was cooked but there just wasnt enough evidence supposedly to charge him. There is unfortunately a very thin line between consensual *** and rape with some of these girls nowadays if you dont call them the night after. Just sayin..Lets hear the facts first.

(And just for the record, I have 3 daughters and 11 grand-daughters. So I am sensitive to the issue here.)

If girl was underage there is no line, not in FL. 17 will get you 15.

In Florida consensual *** with a 16-17 year old is legal as long as you are 24 years old and under, and the 16-17 year old is not disabled.

They admitted to drugging her and getting her drunk, they're screwed.

That Florida law is true (they're both under 24), but the fact that she was inebriated is why they're getting screwed.

I just find it very strange that they would both say "Yeah, we forced her to do drugs and poured alcohol down her throat."

I'm sure it was more like, "Yeah, we gave her alcohol and drugs," but the media loves to spin things to make them more dramatic.

Regardless, still ****ed up and no excuse for it.

Is it true they turned themselves in? I hadn't seen that yet.

Even so, rudebuddha's point would still stand. Turning yourself in when you know you're wanted does not equal guilt, or admission of guilt.

You're ****ing MORON to even try and put the blame on Golden..... He's cleaned up the program and handled the Shapiro mess like a Pro...I'm not a huge fan of his coaching, but when it comes to recruiting (although he's missed on a few big names), and dealing with matters off the field you can't ask for more.... Put the Blame on those 2 morons and givr Credit to the University for doing the right thing.....

How many ****ing linebackers are going to get kicked out of school under Golden's watch?

Johnson
Paul
Terry
Figueroa

An admission of guilt makes all other points moot.

I am a believer in civil rights, bit once you admit guilt for something heinous, then I morph into a Texas Republican.

its in the police report that they admitted to a crime, that is a official document, im with you on the innocent until proven guilty and getting all the facts until pass judgement, but the report says that they admitted to a crime, now what they admitted to can come into discussion, though its not looking to good for them if they look up a toxicology report on the victim, and to do a rape kit on her too, with the romeo and juliet exception (which is what rude was talking about) it wouldnt be considered a underage *** but since it has to deal with a rape they might make them a exception to that law
