I just can't see how Georgia would be guaranteeing him a starting spot. Stockton is highly regarded and looks ready to play based on what action he got this season. So is Mendoza possibly going to Georgia to sit, or are they actually transferring him in over Stockton....who would then transfer out (and I'd be happy with him here)? If Mario wants Mendoza, it's hard to believe he wouldn't come to Miami. But if UGA is guaranteeing a starting spot and Mario is saying you can come and compete with Emory, then that could be the difference and I'd be ok with that. I think he'd make us better but I'm not sure if he's worth a guaranteed starting spot.
Emery does not have the higher ceiling. Put that sentence in capitals or whatever you wanna do because that’s a fact. Emery is a floor guy, below average arm strength, not athletic and a low slow release. I don’t believe he’ll ever start here and that’s a good thing for us fans.Who gives us the best chance to win game one vs Notre Dame ?
I say Mendoza.
Does Emory have the higher ceiling? Maybe , but we play better vs ND and UF to start the year with an experienced QB.
Another knock I have with Avery is he plays sandlot ball a lot and I don’t like that either. I want you on time , processing , going through reads then finally making a decision when the clock in your head goes off. Throw it away or tuck and run. I want guys playing on time . But prefer guys that have “ enough “ athletic ability to gain some yards when things break down. Pocket awareness is huge. All of this is important with this offense.I think Accuracy is top 2 in terms of importance. I agree with what you say.
Cam improved his accuracy and generally, most QBs are what they are but Cam went from 60% up to 67% and I feel he left another 3% out there because in this offense he should’ve been at 70% taking some easier throws but Cam is just elite and made up for it in so many ways.

In the end, regarding Mendoza, who was at what, 70% this past season, he could go very well hit 73-75% in this offense and throw for 3,600+ yards since he threw for 3,000 at Cal.
he was behind the worst offensive line in P4 with hurt wr's who couldnt get openI think Accuracy is top 2 in terms of importance. I agree with what you say.

Mateer’s Washington State lost to Wyoming 14-15.my only hesitation is how do we take a qb that lost to FSU this year
FSU only won 1 game all year against a non fcs opponent
and the qb for that game was Mendoza
tough to look past that
he was 22-36 with 303 yards, he played better against fsu than Cam did lolMateer’s Washington State lost to Wyoming 14-15.
I hope our staff doesn’t judge QBs like you do.

Cal missed a 36 and 38 yard FG vs. FSU which had they made both would have won the game.my only hesitation is how do we take a qb that lost to FSU this year
