Booker Pickett is a similar type of prospect, any thoughts on who you'd rather sign? While Rudolph isn't that mega-whale prospect, if you look at the EDGE rankings basically the overwhelming majority of the list is off the board, so it's still great to secure a legit talent at a premium position. Whatever NIL money you saved by not getting Simmons or Stewart, allocate all of it to a DT. Lightfoot, Artavius, Rudolph and one of the elite DT's and you have a terrific DL class.

Really, really, really need to do something about the interior. Edges are great, but if we are marshmallow up the middle it won’t really matter.

We got Jones…for now. Can’t call it a failure until we see how it ends up. It’s august. If Miami comes out and wins some games and looks good doing it, a lot can change. LT playing like a monster will help show DT what they can do in guidrys defense

The issue isn’t quality, but quantity. I feel like Horton last year was a steal and Jones is big time, but currently that will be two defensive tackles in two recruiting classes. One of Stone or Breland is crucial which both are leaning elsewhere apparently.

Either way we've got two quality blue chip Dends as a part of the class which was the mission of this class… finish with another inside guy and I’ll take it as a win this class…

Plus beating OSU and Michigan for these two makes it that much sweeter

Taking 1 DT a year for the last 2 years is very concerning (you can count Acheampong as a DT if you want but 3 in 2 years is still terrible).

We also had some whiffs in the portal. Need at least 3 HS recruits and probably 2-3 portal guys to get it right.

He's listed at 205 but I don't think he's over 200 to be honest - which is fine because he's a senior right now. I'd guess somewhere between 193 and 200. Can put on weight this year and the next - has the frame for it most definitely. He just needs to thicken up a tad. You can't teach his twitch + 6'4'' frame.

When you say twitch, can you be more specific? Does he have verified speed?

Gotcha. Yes I believe Joe is the weak link at this point but Mario seems attached to him. We need DT help for sure. Collins May end up a DT so that helps depth. I think we have to hit the portal either way.

Personally, with the way the portal is I would be plucking 1 upperclassman out of there and 2 HS every cycle. DT is typically a grown man position so it takes some time to mature. Some HS kids you can’t keep off the field tho
