Dyoni Hill is not hurt (we surmise... because injury news is not reported)

Again, have any of you worrisome hens considered that maybe he was kidnapped by the Jalisco Cartel & Mario is doesn't want it to get out to the media?
It's possible. It's also possible he transferred back to Marshall and even they are keeping it quiet so their first opponent isn't prepared to face him. It also crossed my mind that he's given up football and reviews dishwashing detergent on social media under an alias.

If you are an investor/analyst of a private company and they gave you a tour of everything and went into detail breaking everything down for you that may have been unknown publicly, or considered a valuable secret that they just don't want to share YET, but gave you full access just saying don't share x, y, and z publicly, would that be a problem? Now I can see from a strictly journalistic point of view how that would be not so great. But if it is strictly a timing thing, Idk, because like look at all the youtubers doing phone reviews who have embargos on talking about the product (that they were given to test weeks/months ahead of time) until the company wants them to... that doesn't seem TOO bad...

I view it pretty similar. It would be entirely different if D$ was spreading misinformation though. And he has to be careful that the info he is sharing is actually true and not just some spin the staff is trying to spread, because that would lead to lack of trust which would be very detrimental to this site. But if through that access he gets more information about everything that he has higher confidence and trust in, I don't see how that is bad that it just comes with a caveat that he can't explicitly share some things that they want private for a certain amount of time.

Idk maybe @DMoney needs to start recording more predictions/info he's given with timestamps privately (and without edit), and then sharing it all at a later point/by end of season so that we can fully evaluate how beneficial all this is. But ultimately its not like him limiting what he shares is actually a negative in total coverage, because he COULD share basically nothing if he chose. Instead we are getting some info, and info that other sources aren't sharing. D$ being limited to the same access of the other mainstream reporters wouldn't be beneficial. So I think this is better at least. It'd be better if it was at least a little more open for sure.

Also I think as you get more successful as a program, Mario just needs to stop trying to keep everything in the vault. Like if you are truly a national title contender, you shouldn't be worrying about other teams having basic info about you - it's kinda weak. Now Maybe because this is a season where we expect a major leap AND have a road rivalry game week 1, it kinda makes him more secretive, but You wouldn't want this to be the default...

Not gonna lie, this was a somewhat stream of consciousness post that started with a long hypothetical, but by the end I was kind of sort of like...

Not falling for the OJ hype just yet until I see him out there with live bullets flying against UF.

Brown and Porter Jr sound locked in the rotation. Hill or Richard are fighting for the boundary corner starting spot I’ll assume. So OJ still has some work to do.
Richard is backup to Porter and Brown. OJ is battling Hill at boundary.

I hear you and it certainly tempers how I take the info, but I am not completely sold.

The post directly following yours was @DMoney saying, "Here's what I can say: I've never had more access. But with that access, and the first game on the schedule, comes a need to be careful in what I say." And "most of these dudes" are reporting based on their conversations with people within the program (who are there for more than stretches and individual drills).

There is clearly information the program wants public, and information the program wants contained. At it seems they're now able to exercise a greater degree of control. And maybe that's a good thing... who knows? Win the ACC and I sincerely doubt any actual fan of this program will care too much about the lack of camp news, depth chart updates, injury news, or transparent reporting on the team. But being an extreme program on information containment AND underperforming would just be a new level of un-fun.
100%. Win games and i dont care about the lack of news..I honestly dont care now because of how much i have been scarred from off season reports and buzz about players and teams

None of it really matters to me anymore because the games reveal everything to me.

The fans who truly care about this team are excited regardless, the lack of fall camp updates doesn’t take away from that.

We're not speaking about a lack of fall camp updates. We are speaking about a lack of fall camp updates for one specific player. I could not be more excited for 8/31, and we will all have our answer then.

However, as this is a message board and we're all bored waiting for 8/31, I think its fine to let the worrisome hens out of the coop.

It's an intriguing thread and it's okay to ask about it, especially considering the lack of news. If they said he's working in the mix and progressing nicely at any point during camp this thread would not exist.

Have you guys considered that he could've been kidnapped by the Jalisco Cartel & is being held for ransom?

Hence why Mario wants to keep it quiet while negotiating terms of the exchange.

It's like you guys never think this stuff through & always just assume the worst smh...
You need some CIS privilege. Took 1 post for them to be at your throat.

I’d give the Gators the nod at DB right now comparing unit to unit but other than that there isn’t a single place they have an advantage including ST. Again maybe it won’t mean anything and we will clam up and lose but Mario needs this victory beyond badly. Especially if Montrell doesn’t play - he’s a major major part of that offense.

Maybe they have the better players, but we have the better coaching (at all levels of the defense).

2023 Passing Yards Allowed Per Game

#55 Miami - 216 YPG allowed (12.48 yards per completion)
#70 Florida - 226.7 YPG allowed (13.95 yards per completion)

And people say, yeah, but Miami had more talent last year. OK, Kam Kinchens was good, but James Williams wasn't so hot and was largely drafted on measurables (and has already been converted to LB). Let's not act like Florida wasn't claiming they had a lot of talented DBs last year, and almost everyone is back to make up their "more talented than Miami" DB corps this year.

Weird.

I hear you and maybe Damari is that much better making CB with Porter a potential strength I just have a tough time until I see it.
