Dorsett runs 4.16

I want shuttle times to have a better idea. My guess? Dorsett's shuttle will be slower than Duke, Yearby, Berrios, Coley, and Malcolm Lewis.

Dorsett ran a 6.8 in the 60M. 40 yards = 36 meters, or 60% of the distance. Not saying the time would be linear (he's probably faster in the last 20 of a 60M than the first 20 of a 40), but 60% of 6.8 seconds is 4.08. Under 4.2 is not outside the realm of possibility if he kills the start.

The time that surprises me would be Duke under 4.4 with that new weight. He's never been a burner.

I don't believe Duke is running a legit 4.3. Unless he got alot faster since last year. I seen him get ran down a couple of times last year before his injury, plus the added weight he put on as some has mentioned.

Yea I don't believe those times... I'll add .2 to PD, .1 to Coley and .3 to Waters... If we were that fast all those fly routes Coley called would have been tds 90% of the time... I don't think Duke is at 4.4 yet either... Those are some crazy times...

I'm assuming they ran on the same surface so you can at least compare the times to each other. Herb is sneaky fast so it doesn't surprise me he can hang with Coley

I never understood the "Duke has never been a burner" comment... The guy may not be Chris Johnson or Jamal Charles but he always had great speed... As a freshman most of all his long runs came from outrunning his opponents on the outside... He is also extremely quick... I do agree it seemed like he lost a step last year... But I always saw him as a 4.4 type player...

The combine shows that we inflate our player's numbers a lot.

Orlando Franklin was like 6'8" when he was here.
Brandon Linder did like 40 reps on the bench. (did low 30's at the combine I believe)

Our 40 numbers are usually pretty close though.

I don't think some people realize how fast anything below a 4.5 is.

This. As the combine shows there are very few 4.3 players in reality.

These are hand timed so take them with a grain of salt. That said Dorsett can burn. Also, think Coley is faster then Waters but I bet in a straight line it isn't that much of a difference.

I dont really care what our times are, Im just dam happy we gon strike the fear of gawd all across the field at our skill positions. We havent had speed like this at every position in a while. We dont know who our qb will be and most likely he will suck but we got speed to burn, the way it should be at miami...

Oh and dat boy Coley comin...

The fastest guy on our team at any given time is not faster than around a 4.28. If a guy is much faster than that (sub 4.25) he is likely pursuing the wrong profession.

Lets look at past combines:

2014: Only 7 guys ran in the 4.3s. Dri Archer with a 4.28 was best. 4 CB, 2 WR, 1 RB
2013: Only 12 guys ran in the 4.3s. Marquise Goodwin with 4.27 was tops. 5 WR, 5 CB, 2 RB
2012: Only 7 guys ran in the 4.3s. Josh Robinson with 4.33 was tops. 5 WR, 2 CB

Lots of weapons at our disposal. We just need to find the right QB to get them the ball in space.

Duke is fast at about 30-40 yards…he is above average at 50+ yards for a skill player, but certainly not elite. You saw in the high school all star game and you've seen it here. He does get caught from behind.

Even if he runs a 4.3 that's elite speed. People don't realize what kind of speed 4.5 is
