Do schools really pay players??

So you are saying that you can’t buy a car with a student loan?

Yea you can buy a car with a student loan but I doubt that a whole team is buying 50-75 grand cars with student loans..stop it.

Go take a look into the parking area of an SEC team like LSU,Bama,UGA etc.....looks like a luxury motors showroom.

Saban didn’t buy a couple of dealships because he needed the money.

Rarely do athletes drive 75k cars. I’ve seen the pictures and a challenger doesn’t cost that much. Car purchases isn’t where players would get money, way too much paperwork and evidence. If players get payed it’s by cash and from someone not in the athletic department.

Cars are LEASED to family members and loaded chargers are around 50 grand. And perks come in all kinds of shapes and sizes.Mortgages paid off, homes bought for a 10th of value, jobs that pay a family member much more than the job normally pays with the parent/handler not necessarily having to show up,etc.Rarely are bags full cash the source of the perks.Cash is normally in small amounts. The mother of the RB I alluded to had a Jaquar “ leased “ to her for the 3 years he was there and she’s still driving that car today and he’s been gone for a couple years so I guess that “lease” got paid off.

Latest system is money being loaded into an offshore account and the family being given ATM cards to ge at it.There are many many ways of paying perks. My pont to you is that there are waaaaaaay more than a couple of schools paying these “ perks” as you call them with them coming in all amounts, shapes, sizes and forms of payment.

Not trying to get in a back and forth with you so I’ll end my part of the back and forth here and you can believe what you want but I believe your smarter than that and know better. If for whatever reason you still don’t think there’s a lot more going on than you are alluding to knowing about just google on one of the many sites and examples that have been listed in this thread.

You and the family have a great holiday and as always GO CANES.

I was going to school in Orlando when Culpepper was there. He came to a party in that Navigator with rims and a sound system, wearing fresh clothes and jewelry. That was when 20's cost over $5000, I was like yeah, that isn't obvious.
You probably asked for his autograph

You know you can buy a car with a school loan? My wife was a D1 athlete on a full ride and her car came from a student loan.

Before grants or anything. Football players make about 1200 a month. UM players get over $2,000 a month

Not sure on the exact amount but I generally agree. They are given living expenses. The money is enough we’re some athletes use that money to fly home during holidays.

Look Andrew. It’s over. Unless this group of fans fires up a Foundation and pays just as much as the other $EC schools - we don’t have a chance.

Only other option is to go on National TV (College Gameday, Sat Night game, etc) with a big ******* sign in front of the camera that says - “ I used to be a University of Miami fan -but we can’t compete with the BAG$ - So now I root for A&M”

If we got every single one of our fans to do that - then you may have something.

Option 1 or 2.

I’m hammered - Merry Christmas Canes Fam.

Man Nolan Smith posted a video with a 60-80k Ford Raptor today or last night...you really need to ask this?

While I can't verify this is 100% true, some google searching suggests that his mom is a doctor and his dad works for the port of Savannah. If this is correct then both of Smith's parents make over 100k per year. I read this information on two different forums.

If we start winning then everything will take care of itself.

It depends how much over 100k they make. If you are only making 150k a piece and you spend 80k on your sons car you are VERY poorly managing your funds.

Was just talking to my cousin Elvis Peacock (OU RB ‘74-77) and I didn’t ask him about bags but he spoke on how when he would leave his track meets his junior year there were “bag men” lined up with briefcases just to have s “conversation”... so yeah then bags real deal.

Could have been the kid's college tuition fund growing up that they now don't need to pay for.

The would combine make over 200k. They probably would be concerned considering Nolan’s projection. Could be the money they saved for college, but that speculation on my part.

Definetly a possibility, but it would still be a very poor use of funds. Its not like most doctors or port workers are rich enough to just waste 80k they saved up on a car. It would be a very poor use of the funds assuming that is the case. Doctors also go through many years of schooling and are usually relatively smart. I would not expect one to be that loose with their funds.

I guess in Georgia 200k stretches a lot further than in Miami, but when you think of the kids who are driving around in 80k cars at Miami it was not kids who had parents making 200k a year. It was the kids who had parents making multiple millions per year.

Look bags are in play in today’s age of recruiting, it’s foolish to think they are not

What I don’t understand about this is why aren’t FSU and UF held to the same standard . Why aren’t they looked at as joke when FSU just went 5-7 and a couple years ago UF went 4-8 and lost to GA Southern . They still don’t have problems beating us for recruits even when they’re straight trash or barely better than us .

Because they are the only show in the sh*thole towns that they are in and will forever have that to hold onto. Everything in the city is surrounding the schools from media to livelihood. We are in s.fla where they barely show highlights of our games on tv but do segments talking about our DECOMMITMENTS.

We arent a college town , our campus doesnt have the college atmosphere either. There are kids that go for that vibe for college. Big fish in a small pond. We need to go for the kids that want the big city life. (Nyc, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans) types out of state to fill in our local recruiting gaps.
