Do schools really pay players??

Georgia and Alabama provide the highest level of remuneration. Oklahoma, Texas A&M and FSU are also supposedly providing large payments, but they do not have Foundations in place. Arkansas' Foundation has the second most amount of capital next to Alabama's. The Razorbacks' Foundation raised $150M in funding to modernize their stadium a couple of years ago. The Hunts, Tysons and Waltons endowed the Razorback foundation.

A PSU donor told me that they "selectively pay", but since the Sandusky scandal still reverberates nationally, they are more discriminant about payments because PSU is still considered a strong academic institution and they do not wish to mar its reputation any further.

The SEC pays players but some schools boast sophisticated operations and others have not "caught on". The 'National Press' caught Mississippi "red handed", but Emmert was able to minimize the punishment.

Except for Oregon, the Pac 10 and the ACC are minimally active in the "bag game" at present. I do not think that USC will ever seriously play the "bag game" anymore.

It is technically Nike.. but sure if Adidas is playing BB players parents of course Nike is playing the game.. Tyrique's mom wants him to go to UGA, think there is no Nike payment involved.. just have to know how to play the game..

Tennessee is making a commitment to the game

Am not sure if they have a Foundation.

I was told that FSU had a foundation but a UM Trustee later refuted this so am not sure.

Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Bama and Georgia possess highly sophisticated Foundations.

I believe that LSU has a Foundation. Not sure on Florida, the Mississippi schools, Oklahoma or Oregon.

The problem now is that the costs are getting out of control. It costs more to recruit now than to maintain facilities. Also, kids to each other about the payments and inflate them, which causes tension in the locker room and makes the subsequent year more expensive. It is not an easy game. At some point it will collapse.

NCAA watches us closer than almost any other program in football... we are FORCED to play by the rules while schools in the $EC openly spend money on recruits, it's pretty darn crooked unfortunately.

Yes they pay, multiple players confirmed to me that Bama offered them money but chose to come here.

Any indication as to the amount? $10k plus some monthly spending money would be easier to pass up than $50-250k that gets bandied about here quite often.

LSU has the TAF Foundation (tiger athletic foundation) and they set aside between 4-5 million a year for recruiting .They don’t always use that. Amount but it’s there if they need it.Im sure this amount is matched or exceeded by the Bama’s And UGA’s of the world.

If you notice the schools that are more astute at it are schools that have been associated with Saban or have coaches that have coached for him.Saban has this sht down to a science.

Anyone that doesn’t think that hundreds of thousands of dollars are not being thrown around are just fooling themselves and don’t want to believe it.If your a mid to top tier player and you WANT to shop yourself there’s plenty of places that will gladl pay handsomely for your services.I know this for a fact.

Will it ever be stopped? Not as long as Emmett is in charge and his boy Saban is at the forefront.
