No, we take a swing, because we need to chase some 5 stars. I don't have a problem with it. It is a lightning strike. Sooner or later we may hit one. Did anybody ever think DJ Williams would go to Miami? Not small town southern kid but just as much as a reach.

Okay, getting back to reality

Is the DT recruiting just a combination of different circumstances:
- poor 2022 for Miami
- Recruits in hard to pull areas
- competing schools

Or is there a reason that clearly stands out?

Joe was an underwhelming hire going back 1.5 years. He hasn’t exactly excelled in recruiting while at Miami. Removing the Poly guys, I can’t think of any DTs that have being vocal on Joe’s coaching and development skills. Why didn’t he move on to nfl as was stated by DMoney?

Well i wasnt expecting him either way based off of Geography.....the SAME with Stone/ Breland if we land the guys i would actually be SHOCKED.

You cant be that balls to the wall expecting guys to come here who are so far from our regular recruiting footprint areas..and expecting them as locks.

That being said i think last years class made em a bit over confident.

There is still guys to be had or flipped...but all that bs hype they kicked and kicked to the media members about epic DL class shouldnt have been done at all. That sh*t was Manny level.

Let's face the reality, Mario's tough guy bro shtick worked in the pre-nil/pre-transfer portal era because kids were locked in to their colleges.

Now kids are making as much as college coaches and that means they have all the leverage. We're stuck with a dinosaur X and O's coach who is now just a mediocre recruiter due to a crippled NIL program.

Just face it for what it is, Mario's biggest strength has all but been neutered

What coach is going to win without superior players ? When Saban was at MSU he was at best an average coach due to average talent so this idea that some coaches out here are killing it with subpar players is bull****. If you're winning its cuz you have animals on your squad period.
