We can have NIL that can match others and have other things that don’t like under the table bags. This is in addition to the impact of last season and various other things.

I agree to an extent. I do believe Ruiz’s troubles has obviously caused us some problems this year with NIL. Our collective is not at full capacity. Thought I read where we are at 80 percent and should be at 100 next year. I do believe bags are still being used as bonuses, but it’s not that much of an effect as it was before. Otherwise, we would have had these issues last year.

I hope we are at 100% next year because some big horses next year .

This is a good post here. I think the only difference that I want you to consider in all this is that last year was Year 1 for NIL and we were prepared for it with Ruiz who was hungry. Many other schools weren’t as organized and prepared, some of whom were pushing bags first. We beat those guys. Fast forward to this year and everyone has organized NIL with capabilities so in a sense the NIL - while necessary - has become a wash if it’s available from each school. So it’s like it was before NIL on some of these top recruitments. Bags up front, SEC vs ACC, track record…etc…

I know it’s happening in some of the top recruitments with some schools. I really have no answer for it because money matters. I think we need to start winning to at least be taken seriously as well as to be able to more ably reel in Plan B’s who in a number of instances should probably be Plan A’s.

It’s all coming back on us now. Last year really damaged us. It’s beyond depressing. Pray for Dawson and Guidry.

D made some comments on the cast that were very emphatic about how strong our NIL is right now

It’s not leading to commitments but there was no hedging or anything wishy washy about what he said

If people think he’s full of it, that’s up to them, but just passing along what he said

Why it’s like that and not leading to commitments is where it seems to get really out of whack though obviously

My Pop’s side of the family is from outside Meridian, MS so I’ve spent plenty of summers and family reunions in that neck of the woods.

Those kids do not leave the Sip. They just don’t.

Think Franklin enjoyed the process and had a fantastic time seeing a new world down in Miami. Probably blew his mind.

But ain’t no way Lane and the Mississippi bag boys were letting a 5-star leave the state. I understand the disappointment, but not at all understanding the shock factor.

For the love of all that is good and holy lock this goddam thread, he is gone and that is that. In fact, just lock the ******* recruiting board completely until the season starts and we can have some actual football to discuss, and if we don't win some **** games early and often then **** I don't know what then
