In my humble opinion, recruiting classes are important, but the portal and NIL have changed the game and you can make up for mistakes or gaps much more quickly and makes those top 5 classes much less important.

The portal is critical to get it right.

Absolutely not. That’s why his first two years, he’s far exceeded expectations in that regard.

And yet if NSD was tonight, it would be hard to argue that this 2025 class is a success, especially at the positions we struggled to recruit the previous two years.

Good thing is…

1. We have a week+ still, and Mario is known to make a splash or two late.

2. We seem to be prioritizing the portal.

It’s excusable if you recruit like dog ****. But I get what you are saying. We should be in that game every year. But when you recruit the way we have in the past you don’t get to play in that game.

This is the worst weekend for this game. No school has students on campus. Syracuse is not a commuter school. It's not a state school, either.
It will be interesting to see how the locals support it. And how many kids DO go back early.

It stinks for basketball too. There are so many tourneys, etc this entire week and no student population to even watch them

I disagree!! I can name you a list and I’m not interested in doing so. If people wanna say he missed on secondary fine. He did a fine job this year but missed on pickett. He landed 3 terrific receivers last class but missed on Jeremiah. The guy can flat out recruit and he’s won 10 games this year. Let’s see how we finish

Yup. I can already hear it. But Syracuse is not an easy out with our secondary. Can easily see us losing that. Especially cause he's tried to make the game more entertaining than necessary. Easiest way we ensure a win is take the air out of the ball. Run it down their throats. A shootout scares me.

We need a timely turnover. If we get 2 scores / drives ahead I don't think they can hang with us, but we need to break the cycle and stop it turning into a basketball game.

Thank god for Cam Ward lol, he’s covered up massive warts

X has been clutch as ****, George, Arroyo have been good too

List the impact players from the HS recruits he’s brought in on this team this year that has made us 10-1?

2023 class I got Mauigoa, Fletcher, Bain,

And guess what? They were the 3 of the top 4 recruits in the class…

Who got Cam to come here?
 
It will be interesting to see if DJ goes to LSU this weekend. They have some issues going on. I will continue to watch LSU playing defense to hold onto what they have.
Either way, the beginning of next week will be crucial with how things end up for us come Weds. What excitement Mario has brought to signing day that this program had completely lost so long ago. It's going to be a crazy week if we are going to the ACC Championship. Go Canes!

Thank goodness they don’t have NFL first round and pro bowl Brashard at rb we wouldn’t stand a chance
