2025 DJ Pickett 5* CB from Zephyrhills Commits to LSU

No and Raymond certainly wouldn’t develop players at a lesser level than what we’ve had and he’d recruit better.
Ijs LSU had one of the greatest offenses of all time last year yet they lost 3 games. Now if we're adding on that he can recruit and develop talent but has still led terrible secondaries that needed one of the greatest CFB offenses ever to keep the heat off of him it needs to matter in some way even just a little and mind you Hillbilly let him go so that hurts too

Corey Raymond worked in Gaynesville. You thought you cooked here?

Oh no I got caught there because he was in Gainesville getting fired but yeah you couldn't mention his year with Burrow, Chase and Jefferson where the secondary with Stingley was still the biggest weak spot. You're still not saying why he's good or why he's better than a Tim Walton who coached here for 3 years and had one of the best secondaries in the country NOW not in the past who'd be perfect here

So your rant is over him having a bad year? Explanation..... It happens!

I think Corey Raymond in Miami with Miami NIL turns out better for him than it did in gaytorville. I also think our secondary has more talent with him and the coaching is no less than what we’ve had.

Is this really an earth shattering conclusion? At a minimum, Pickett is a Cane with Raymond here. I’m not complaining about our overall recruiting but if we are looking at where we can do better, CB is an area that stands out.

Ok but when I bring up his struggles this was before the NIL and this was after LSU was DBU util they fell off a cliff and have still fallen off. Now hey MAYBE it would get Pickett which I doubt because no way he has more power than his whole family and staying home to start for the #3 team in the country. I brought up Tim Walton because he was a Canes coach, he was a DC here, he may want redemption, he's also a much better recruiter look at OSUs class and he's a much better coach look at their results. That should be the plan be the best team in the country getting the best players/coaches to do it

I think Pickett is committed to LSU because of Raymond. Whether Walton could get him, I don’t know, but he’s not available as far as I know. Corey Raymond has been available at times.

LSU & several other schools didn't just start paying him. He's been getting paid by multiple schools since his junior year. That's not what ends a recruitment.
I still remember when Patrick (Johnson) Peterson, was getting paid by LSU, UGA, UF, and Miami all at the same time. The kid that made Shapiro tap out.

Is the current product better?
Stupid questions get stupid answers. No one has said what we have in place is adequate. However if you keep changing everything up yearly it's never gonna get better. Jackson doesn't worry me at all. The corners we have worry me. The safeties just need time to mature into the system. The corners being brought in will have time to show who they are. What does you all pulling the ****s of a bunch of couches cause they can recruit but can't develop **** have to do with that? I've said for years if have rathered Mike stayed at cb coach and cmr and Mandy would've told anyone who cared to eat a fat ****. We at least got production out of WHATEVER we had.

I understand how a coach that was good at recruiting might not be later (not relating to kids anymore, not up for the grind of recruiting any longer, etc), but curious how a DB coach becomes bad/average in coaching if they were good before? Not questioning that are average now, but are techniques changing and they aren't keeping up? Is there film study that they should be doing of opponents that they aren't?

Note that I ask this as someone who never played organized football so forgive me if it is obvious to those that have.
Only thing that really changes is the techniques your DC wants employed

We have had neither, I'm not sure where this rant is headed.

I remember Memnon (I think it was you. Apologies if it was not) saying years ago that Raymond was a SEC man and will always coach in the SEC.
I don't know if that's true or not but judging by the jobs he has taken there might be something to it.

I don’t think Raymond is our answer at DB to be honest. I think it’s a combination of the personnel and the play calling by Guidry. We need to give Chevis more time and bring in much more talent and depth.
I think we need to allow the talent to mature.

Brown was good last year, injured this. Porter was good last year, out of position this. Frederique is a Freshman All-American (if there's any justice). Washington has finally committed to playing his money position.

Every one of those guys besides Porter is an underclassman. The cupboard was bare when Cristobal arrived.

We missed on our Portal evaluations at DB and that has bitten us, but the future is bright. We have four 4* CBs committed currently too (although everyone is hyper focused on the 5* that might be getting away).

if this year has taught us anything, its that we need starting level corners asap. OJ is the only one worthy

I hate when fans alway say players should be lining up to play here to get a starting spot. Thats not how this **** works. If it did, every trash team would be getting all the best players every year. Who tf would want to come play for this dysfunctional group on defense? Think these recruits are watching our players not even know where to line tf up are licking these chops to come here?

We need a change on D. Now! Dont give a dam that were late in the season. It cant be any worse. Fire his *** and make a statement. Let JT coach rest of the way.
