I want more young players integrated into the defense. They are holding back.

We'll have an elite defense by 2026. There are too many top blue chips on this roster that haven't played. The 2025 defense will be better even if they don't have the experience.

Also remember that these NIL deals, from what I understand, are performance based for the most part and will be changing year by year for many players. For some types of players that will always be backups/rotational, it’s probably pretty static year to year but for big recruits that can’t get off the bench, that number most likely gets renegotiated annually.

Yup. Elite portal guys won’t come here. Those guys are in their contract year and they need to go to a top tier program. The guys we get have to be evaluated really well bc we can’t afford to miss
