2024 DJ Lagway - QB

If Billy has a brain he'll realize that he needs to start Lagway ASAP. So what if he faces us week #1. He will realize that he needs to let Lagway take some lumps at first because this kid is going to be very special. The fact that Lagway actually decided to play for Sun Belt Billy and UiF is a travesty but those are the facts. He can't afford to ride Mertz and wait it out. He may not have that kind of time. Start the Lagway era from the beginning and hope the kid catches on quick. Thats his only hope.

It’ll buy him time going the Al golden route. Blame anything bad by playing a freshman qb

I disagree. Billy chose to keep most of his buddies on staff and Mertz won’t perform bad enough as a pure game managing QB to get pulled. My guess is Billy just rides the L’s until he’s fired knowing it’s likely over anyway before the season starts. That team is trash across the entire roster and on offense losing their best WR and best RB all the while keeping the same ****** OL lol

If we are healthy by game 1 we are going to be able to pressure with 4 and that’ll be that.

Especially with the kind of offense they run with Mertz.

You don’t need an experienced QB to hand off and then throw the ball behind the LOS or short of the sticks every play.

Anybody can do that. So at least try to sell the youth movement.

Zero passing game from A&M. If he could’ve stretched the ball 10 yards they win that game.
 
Lagway would be stupid to leave Florida just to go to TAMU, when their Offense is equally just as sh*tty. Plus playing for a conservative Defensive minded HC isn't gonna help build his NFL profile at all.

If he's smart & he does hit the Portal for next year, his best bet would be to pair himself up with Offensive minded guru, who will have a good QB's Coach in place & a system that can help him develop.
