Disaster to end the cycle

Your wrong its the wins that count . Nobody gives a **** about the score . The 2001 team should have lost to Boston college , Nobody cares about that its the record . Actually according ESPN we didnt have one of the easist schedules. You flipping out about losing a 4 star safety like hes Earl Thomas....Relax.
2001 the BC game was an outlier (1 game). 2024 the UF game feels like the outlier. I’m just frustrated because we had the Best QB come thru Miami in forever, best offense in forever and we **** the bed with every team that had a pulse. Look Stubbs, Nix are not generational but they both play positions of dire need. Maybe Mario can salvage ESD, but there’s some things need fixing in the program!

we have made it to the end of the year. the end of the cycle. we finish the year 10-2 and that should mean better recruiting after we had great season with finished like 5-7 and 7-6. but no, we get ****ed in the end. recruits are finally seeing we have no future and i’m starting to see it as well. i hate what’s going on right now and mario is going to make zero changes. everyone knew we needed better safeties and cornerbacks and the staff did jack**** to fix that. absolutely devastating. and now we are losing our highest ranked commit who btw is a safety. pathetic.
Another Troll!!!

If rivals are overpaying for these guys then I would say spend only on Justin Scott and Mauigoa type HS line recruits and then spend the rest on transfers who have multiple years of eligibility.

Mesidor and Porter are better than what the average 4* recruit will turn into so I would rather sign more guys like that than pay for early commitments from HS guys then have them come and ask for more money before signing day then they play 2 snaps freshman year then ask for more money then transfer.

Facts:

We had the #1 offense in the nation. Better than any other football program in the country

We had the best QB in the nation

We have one of the best TE rooms in the nation with at least one future All-Pro (Arroyo). All of the TEs played incredibly well (and consistently the whole year). Super impressive year from this group

Virtually all of our WRs made significant strides this year. As a group, they performed at a very high level consistently the whole year. Restrepo broke all time UM records (a major feat when you consider the all-time greats that he had to beat out)

Our OL played really well the whole year (except for one road game). Playing with Cam must have been awesome but also far more challenging for the OL as they had to sustain blocks way longer than usual. They had a good year. We got short yardage when we needed it a very high percentage of the time

We had ten (10) wins for the first time since 2017 and the overall trajectory is clearly very positive. We’ve won more games every year under Mario.

We dominated an SEC opponent (when they were at full strength) like none of their other opponents did.

State Champs this yr (which is a big deal).

We lost two games by around 10 points total. Those were close losses that easily could have gone our way.

We knew our secondary would be the weak link…before Damari went down in the first game. That’s the curse of Addai’s recruiting failures. Most Canes fans knew that would hurt us eventually…while Addai was still here. Our Portal adds were very good except at DB. Guidry’s scheme is very dependent on good safety play. His D looked much better & completely different last yr with Cam & James back there.

Changes will be made to fix the D. There’s a ton of young talent on DL & in the LB room. Mario is heavily focused on DB recruiting this year.

The Syracuse loss is really frustrating because we all know that a generational offense has likely been denied a chance at a Natty but let’s keep some perspective:

• Alabama has three (3) losses, including a BAD loss to Vandy & a game against lowly Oklahoma where they scored three (3) points. Yes, three (3) whole points the whole game. One year removed from Saban that’s pretty pathetic;

• Georgia has lost two games and gave up 42 points to GA Tech (and looked hopeless on D against Alabama & some others). Florida (who Miami DOMINATED) was dominating Georgia until Lagway was injured and a 3rd string QB transfer from Yale had to come in.

• UF has won only 7 games and they’ve been mediocre every year under Napier. Their D was hot trash last year. Nothing much to be excited about there.

• OSU has two (2) losses and scored a miserable ten (10) points against a mid Michigan team that couldn’t even throw the ball…at home. They have way underperformed. They only scored 13 against Oregon. Their D looked awful at times when I watched them. Straight trash at times.

• FSU: 2-10 or something. That’s atrocious. Their recruiting classes have also been bad the last 3 years so there’s almost zero hope for a turnaround there for at least 3-4 years. They are now in NorvHell as they can’t really make a change for years.

The future is bright as long as we make changes on D, continue to recruit really well, and add some impact players on D through the portal. Keep the faith!
You’re right about what you are saying but at the end of the day none of this matters. The future only looks bright for programs willing to break the bank. That’s it it’s that simple whether you lose or win on the field, they (the recruits) want money. That is always been the way to close and have a bright future. It isn’t rocket science

If you’re a top 200 recruit with aspirations of going to the NFL, playing for Guidry is a big turn off.

We saw it real time with Barron. NIL money is becoming bigger, but the life changing money is getting drafted within the first 3 Rounds of the nfl.
Nahh Baron cost himself money just like he did at Tennessee….

Cristobal on how he feels about closing out this class on signing day: "You don't take anything for granted, especially now that there is money involved and access. At this point in time in the recruiting cycle, one thing I have gotten away from is the need to make a signing day splash and stick more to making a program and game day splash. Let's make sure we don't get involved with that because at this time of year, people are going to overbid. They are going to try and price you out to just make a splash and create momentum. You really have to assess if it is worth it or should we invest in something else. It can be like fishing, you will cut the line and go for another fish or some times you will reel it in and bring them in the boat. What is it going to look like on Greentree and Hard Rock?"

Don't expect any positive signing day surprises.

Sounds like a man who knows that the thing he was considered great at is slipping away

Napier is flipping 3 kids from Texas in a week, a psu kid, a uga kid, etc but only Mario can’t recruit. Only Mario has to take an L. This is all a fake momentum desperate game by Napier.

No one wants to be a “swamp boy” overnight lol

See where UF is next year when everyone is trying to destroy them for what they are doing. Maybe Mario is stubborn but why let a kid like Stubbs shake you down? That means every offseason he will try and do it.

Cam Ward is gone my dude and he was the only difference between this team and last seasons team

So we’re FSU now? My we’ve come far in a year…praising going all in on the portal to deflect from HS recruiting?

Y’all don’t want posts bumped clowning this approach, I can promise you that.

Better nail every single portal eval, or we’ll suffer a similar fate.

Mario serves no purpose here if he can’t recruit. I refuse to believe we’re punting on HS recruiting.
That’s just message board talk. The goal in talent acquisition is to get the best players you can get. When you recruit high school kids and have a couple flips you can make up for it in the portal IF you sign the right kids. If you’re empty after that you need to raise more money. Miami has its foundation of high school kids from last years class. They needed to attack the secondary in the portal and pretty much everything on defense anyways. It just sucks to watch a program like UF out spend on players we want after kicking their teeth in. But this is chess not checkers.

This program lost two games by a total of what? As much as losing sucked we lost close games. If only GT beat Georgia with Cuse being 9-3 just would have helped our case.

UF thinks they are kicking everyone’s teeth in when in reality they are kicking their own in. They are going to flip 3 kids from Texas. What do you think sark will do to them on the field next year?

Btw, you have to be careful with overpaying tvd held us hostage two offseason, Kelly, Wayne and others tried to shake us down in offseasons. This kid Stubbs will do the same thing mark it down. Overpaying for Jeremiah smith is one thing, not a kid who you don’t think is elite.

So, our head “coach” whose only known skill is recruiting, is letting recruits go to avoid “overspending “. It sounds like he was given a budget that is not competitive and his recruiting prowess is fading away.
I can name a handful of kids who tried to shake us down in the offseason when they barely produced here. We have money but not Texas money.

Im not sure if the budget is not competitive or he, and probably some other coaches as well, are looking at the ROI on high school recruits and seeing it lacking.
Think of a guy in our program like Samson. if he isn’t starting next year his NIL spend has no ROI. That is just bad business. So in his place you bring in Bell, likely for less money as he wasn’t a 5 star recruit. Much better ROI. Or a Jaden Rashada or numerous other high school prospects that never pan out. They used to cost a scholarship. Now they cost $100,000’s.

Transfers cost money as well but there is just more of a track record to review than with a high school recruit.

I don’t want to become like FSU and be just a protal program, but I can see the temptation for a coach to do that. No budget is ever unlimited (okay maybe the Dodgers and Yankees) so decisions on ROI have to be made.
