If you asking me would I rather spend 100k on Stubbs, Nix and Pringle rather than spend that 100k in the portal on a Safety and LB who can help us IMMEDIATELY AND I we can get them for at least 2 years..ill take the portal kid. You spend big on HS kids that can help you instantly or **** at least within the first 2 years...I am hoping we are starting to figure out the formula on the HS kids to pay because paying Samson all that money and he hasnt even scratched the 2 deep is a NIL miss.

Losing Stubbs would suck but some posters saw him live and werent really blown away AND we need a Safety who can help is NOW. Alot of posters didnt even really like Nix at all. DMoney had to go into that thread and convince folks he wasnt Corey Flagg with a little more twitch to get them onboard. So not sure why posters are up in arms over those two right now. Would love to keep them..but not overpaying for them either.

It’s always been a myth.

Things like “they are winners” “prepare me for the league” “play for championships”

Were always just code for “Ohio State/UGa/Bama offered me the most money”

Just winning didn’t work for Dan Mullen and every other mid-tier program with a good coach trying to build up the program into a consistent winner.

If you’re a top 200 recruit with aspirations of going to the NFL, playing for Guidry is a big turn off.

We saw it real time with Barron. NIL money is becoming bigger, but the life changing money is getting drafted within the first 3 Rounds of the nfl.

This is a Fan perspective.

every measurable statistic show the odds of a player making it to the NFL are not great.

Get as much money as you can now.

That is goal 1a for most of these kids.

And realistically you can have both.

blaming Guidry as if he told Baron to not set the edge all season is a classic CIS take.

That’s not what I’m saying.

I’m saying Guidry has been exposed as a poor P4 DC. If you’re a top ranked player, HS or transfer, you’re gonna get paid regardless

What I’m saying is. Most players, and their families or handlers, are smart enough to know that they’re better off getting the same money but with coaches that have a proven track record… which Guidry obviously doesn’t. He’s still living off the Marshall win vs ND

This is what is p*ssing me off bout Mario. You can be an elite recruiter bc you get 4 and 5 stars but will continue to **** the bed bc he's not evaluating these players. I would gladly pass on a 4 star for a 3 star that actually has it when you watch film.

That’s just not a decision serious football programs would have to make. Shouldn’t be an either or.
 
@DMoney was pretty explicit in the 11/19 Bank that UF is using the funds that would've been allocated for Napier's buyout along with additional funds from whiffing on last season's recruits to generate more NIL Money for this cycle.

This isn't complicated, we're not out-spending them and when you consider Stubbs has a teammate and high school QB that's already flipped to UF, there's going to be a strong connection there.

The frustrating part, as has been stated as nauseum, is that we have zero momentum on the trail and it's all self-inflicted. The defense has been completely exposed and staff changes are likely forthcoming. You can bet programs are also negative recruiting the fact this program simply cannot replace Cam Ward next season, and they're pitching regression. As much as I like Nickel and feel he is underrated, he doesn't have the star power or allure that Lagway has at UF. They're selling a program built around a young, 5* QB that ended the regular season with wins over LSU, Ole Miss and FSU. When you consider how terrible this team has recently performed, the luster surrounding our ***-beating of UF has faded dramatically.

Recruiting will be very interesting moving forward, as anything can happen in the final hour and nobody has officially flipped. But the momentum UF has on the trail compounded by UM's poor performance in November doesn't make this news totally surprising, IMO. The best hope is that the Crystal Balls and Flip Predictions are premature, and UM shores things up in the final hour.

Safety is the position we definitely still need a starter as only have ZP getting a starting spot

Yay, we were at least 20 pt faves in all those games and were at least two score faves in the games we lost! No unit or player improved over the course of the season! Several players digressed! I’m sorry, but that’s unacceptable! We had one of the weakest schedules in P4 if you’re ok with the results because we’re 10-2 with again no ACC ship game then so be it. But I’m going to vent and express my frustration! And tell where I’m wrong or lied?!

Your wrong its the wins that count . Nobody gives a **** about the score . The 2001 team should have lost to Boston college , Nobody cares about that its the record . Actually according ESPN we didnt have one of the easist schedules. You flipping out about losing a 4 star safety like hes Earl Thomas....Relax.
