Dude "overspending" is a business decision. you over spend to get Pickett or Jeremiah Smith, you dont overspend to get a kid like Stubbs with high bust potential who will shake you down the moment his freshman season is over with the threat of the portal. You can find a proven guy in the portal. NOW, my concern is getting the portal evals right.

CFB is in a strange place right now. I certainly understand the approach of paying for production through the portal vs taking a chance spending big dollars on high school kids. Not sure where things even go from here but sure feels like that’s the approach MC is taking for this recruiting/portal season.

The lack of any meaningful information coming from D$ or any other insider connected to the program speaks absolute volumes the day before ESD. The cookie has crumbled. We will be left with nothing but crumbs. Gotta pray for a homerun in the portal - or else its curtains.

That’s the name of the game. I’m sure guys in our roster get raises. It’s a difference in trying to destroy a team with no players than trying to destroy a team with good players we want. If Mario’s evals are correct they got some dogs now. And they will spend heavy in the portal as well, credit where it’s due they want to win and know it’s about jimmy’s and joes. Them and fsu have money they were just not spending.

We blew Syracuse for sure, but you'd think that our elite recruiter (who has no other good qualities) would be able to do more with 10 wins after coming off a 7 win season.

Guess we needed to go undefeated for elite recruiter Mario to close out the class well

They’ve also set the floor for a 2026 safety. He’ll want what Stubbs got, and more. And why shouldn’t another elite safety ask for that? And that will begin to rapidly raise their NIL spending.

They got dawgs now? French is not a dawg, Stubbs is not a dawg. Moore has high bust risk. You act like they overpaid to get Jeremiah Smith caliber kids. you are being to emotional here bruh. They are NOT recruiting at a Texas level.

You know who's a dawg. Malachi Toney. Hes not rated high right now because he reclassified. I am willing to think he can will be more productive than all three of them in college.

Stubbs will come back for more money threatening to hit the portal after end of next year. People dont get, Jayden Wayne, Kelly and a few others tried that and were told no.

That’s homer talk cause if they were our commits no one would say those things. And we won’t know if they are good till they hit the field. But it isn’t a good look that guys he evaluated waivers on him to go to a team we absolutely destroyed. And the reason we destroyed them was because we closed strong at the end of recruiting cycles and beat teams like them out. And who’s to say they won’t spend in the portal? And how do we know we can even revamp a roster with high caliber players through the portal when we don’t even know who will be there. That’s a huge roll of the dice, and you have to compete with big money schools for the best in the portal as well.
 
I took a peak at the "Johnny Ruiz" backed 2023 recruiting class and do you know only THREE of them have probably earned their NIL money as of this season?? THREE? Francis, Bain and Fletcher Jr... And I know there is or was some serious NIL money tied into that class. And we are going into their 3rd year where that class should be the backbone of this program. And only 3 have answered the bell. We have the data now on how to play this NIL thing. Lets let UF keep playing the game wrong and lets readjust the strategy.

Bruh. First off, I have been consistent on Toney for a long time. French told our staff he wanted the Jeremiah smith deal and was told NO. I NEVER was on here gushing about Stubbs (or Bryce for that matter). It's to homer talk. The staff was not willing to overpay for Stubbs and French. They will spend for Dallas Wilson, DJ Pickett, and Hanks.

Btw, you know what isn't homer talk. Me blaming Mario for losing Nix because he hired a bad DC.

Texas just flipped a 5* CB from LSU

TrumpyCane thinks that was an awful example

If Mario closes with Pickett, Carter, Alford then you can tell the naysayers to **** off but as of now he’s getting his **** pushed in after a 10-2 season

If we had a top 5 class and lost a couple of guys then no biggie but having the 10th ranked class and losing your top ranked recruit is not good
