**** didn’t want to see Chris Johnson jr…

We never or in this case didn't try any schemes to take advantage of his talent. We had the #1 offense so this is yet another example of underutilization that gets glossed over. I like Dawson but he didn't demonstrate a lot of creativity to get "playmakers" the ball (wheel routes, jet sweeps, etc.) and we could have definitely used CJJ.
Yeah. It gets lost in the bigger issues we had, particularly on defense, given how the offense performed overall. I’m not livid or anything. I just think we have a pattern of not utilizing speed guys the way we should. It’s more of a concern for me going forward than when we had Cam Ward back there.

Oh I agree wholeheartedly...It's as if we recruit some guys just to make sure other schools don't get them; not necessarily to use them. I'm sorry but you have to scheme for your talent, especially when it's bonafide talent rather than making the talent fit your scheme. It's not a hill to die on, but I agree, it's a pattern that will bite us in the future.

FWIW: I felt the same way about B Smith

i'm torn. i don't know who ****ed me off more: a) 24 taking the kickoff from the one yard line and forest gumping it running straight into the first tackler at the 17 yard line; or b) 35 with the dopey jersey failing to fair catch and the ball being downed at the 5. close call. for me its a push
I think late in Syracuse game Coach finally had enough after Ray Ray gave up 20 yards in field position cause he didn't catch the ball, and put in... Jacolby George. Ray Ray was so bad at deciding to catch the punt or nah, that Jacolby George - decision maker par excellance - was subbed in.

This is why I would pay the wide receiver Barion Brown from UK whatever his price is. $1 million. Take it from Mario's $8 million. Barion is good for 4 kick returns a year. think of that . . . the other team just scored, got all happy and Barion gave them the sadz 10.4 seconds later. I would love to see the stat of how a kick return for a touchdown, after an opponent score, relates to a team winning the game.

It’s not getting up in any feels. The guy has speed and I expected him to be used as a decoy and in space. There was a need for that this season in my opinion. Also, would have liked to see him develop. I agree that we have better backs including Pringle. We don’t have the speed I’d like to stretch defenses and he has that if used correctly.

Even putting him in motion like how every signle offense did to us would've still helped and gotten him on the field more.

Yes we did early in the season. Cj Jr can't in multiple times and was immediately targeted

All against weaker teams and before ACC play. I'm aware of that and I still believe you have to get him the ball a few times a game and that's a scheme issue.

We ran the same play everytime he was in. It was always obvious he was bout to get the ball. We did him no favors
Quick motion to the flat and you knew what it was. He was misused just like Brashard was . I like Dawson but he’s yet to show me anything creative with multi dimensional guys or guys with speed.

The crazy thing is he actually does know how to use those type guys. He had tavon Austin and his last year he had 1200+ yards receiving and 600+ yards rushing

“We had the #1 offense” followed by complaints is wild to me.

People don't want to admit that. Our offense is only missing 1 thing, and that's an absolute burner to stress the defense. That's a huge issue considering we had at least 4 burners on our offense (Ray Ray, CJJ, CWH, and Shemar Kirk) but we haven't been able to use feature any of them properly.

They don’t know how to use the little speed they do have. Sam Brown was the only wr that put fear in dc’s over the top. But he had suspect hands.

The number one offense that had long lawls almost every game. Including the last game. The offense was either scoring at will or in a funk. Some of y’all just look at stats and think that’s all. Stats don’t tell the entire story. Just like when I said we had major issues on D against VT . I was told I was being negative and our rankings show they’re a good defense. There’s still flaws with the scheme and it’s ok to point them out. From struggling in screen game , very vanilla / simplified run game and not scheming some guys to their strengths.

2 of those guys aren’t burners

Trying to force the pass too much that’s why. Vs Syracuse a team that is trash stopping the run you only gave martinez 10 carries and fletcher had 13. Martinez had 84 yards on those 10 carries. He probably could’ve easily had 150-200 but trying to force the passing game too much with cam. And running the ball and burning clock would’ve been perfect to keep the defense off the field

It was obvious what teams were running against us when they'd motion/line up their RB outside trying to get a 1v1 with Francisco and it still worked...
