Good win in November on the road. Onto Rutgers at home. Hopefully, we get a nice crowd.
Don't waste your time with certain people. Certain people just pick a narrative and run with it, facts and logic be damned. Miami has had some tough close losses before, and instead of admitting that in a coinflip situation, you can end up losing, a lot of our fans pick a random bit of fortune cookie "Wisdom" and regurgitate it over and over again. So you missed the part where the announcers said, "brilliant play call. Brilliant play call. Not a good play call. A brilliant play call"
Again, there is no evidence that the Canes struggle down the stretch of close games. They've blown their fair share, as has every team in college basketball. That's the nature of this sport. The Canes have also stolen games late under L.
Also, we got hosed by the refs or it wouldn't have come down to that. That was an obvious flagrant earlier in the game, and no way that an and-1 with about 15 seconds left.
He looked great in limited time todayI like seeing AJ Casey continue to play more. We are going to need him off the bench in league games. He hasn’t really asserted himself on offense yet but he’s working hard defensively in the post and competing for rebounds.
These jackoffs are probably gonna add time.

Rutgers defense is elite but the offense is far from it. They lost Ron Harper Jr and Geo Baker but they got transfer Cam Spencer playing well, Clifford Omoruyi has improved from last season, and a overall good mix of youth and experienced players. They should be a problem in the Big TenReally good win
- Pack had a great game shooting 7-10 from the floor & 2-4 from 3 finishing with 16pts; Following up his performance against SFBK this was his best game of the season. He’s a volume scorer that does a great job getting his shots from the perimeter but can also get into the middle of the Defense & create easy high % shots with floaters or quick 10-15ft jumpers from the elbow.
- Omier had a another great game on the Boards with 13 rebs, he’s easily one of the best Rebounders we’ve ever had, this kid is absolutely relentless cleaning the glass.
- Wooga had his best game of the season as well offensively; his athleticism is a + on the fast break in transition & he even gave us 2 good 3’s today lol
- Miller had another good game as well; Didn’t shoot too well from the floor but he impacts the game in so many other ways that his stats won’t always show exactly how invaluable he is to the team.
Overall, we shot pretty solid from the floor at 45% for the game, didn’t have a great night shooting from 3 & was good from the FT line at 8-12.
We turned the ball over way too much today, we did a good job with team ball movement & Defense, we held UCF to 23% from 3 & had 8 steals, but one main thing we have to continue to do is learn to adjust Defensively against the hot hand. Darius Johnson singlehandedly kept UCF in this game & in the future I’d like to see us mix up defensive rotations to slow the hot player down, but other than that we’ve played well all season minus the Maryland game.
The Rutgers game will be an interesting one, they’ve played only one worthy opponent in Temple & lost, the rest of the teams they’ve played thus far have all been Northeast, American East, Ivy League & Metro-Atlantic conference teams. Which means we should beat them.
But they do have a Center in Cliff Omoruyi who will be a challenge for Omier & their best Guard Cam Spencer s a really good shooter both from the floor & from 3. We stop those 2, we win going away.
Yep. They try to **** us in every sport, and at every turn. The TV announcer timed it 3 different times on his stopwatch along with the replay, and he said at minimum, 1.4 went off the clock, which was what was left in the game at the time of the tip. Yet these ****ers kept on timing it to see if they could somehow get a different result. That conference between them at the end was whack as ****. One of the refs (the black dude) seemed like he was trying to convince the others to give UCF one more play. He’s the ref that had the stopwatch, and he kept going back to the video monitor and retiming it. The ref on the left (I’m assuming that he was the crew chief), overruled him in the end.Geez, thought we were gonna get a Russia v US '72 finish. The questionable call on Wong, a friggin' conference with Dawkins after his last timeout (about :15 seconds), the timekeeper lapse AND the official timed it and SAID 1.5 (read his lips) - yet conferences and WAITED to finally end the game. DO YOUR FRIGGIN JOB ZEBRAS (in an unbiased manner).
Joseph is the kind of guy that won't ever be an elite scorer, but he can run the O, defend his position at a high level and is a solid locker room guy. He's the kind of guy that when he graduates, you end up missing him more than you'd expect. It's tough to find those 4 year guys that can do that, especially in this day and age. He is just a winning basketball player. Both Poplar and Joseph are light years better than last year.
Joseph is a good point guard and his elite defensive is what will win us some games.
That handshake by L was a hilarious troll job
Nobody knew how much time would be left on the clock. Refs decided and went over to tell both coaches in a huddle. UCF coach throws his hands in the air and Coach L smiles and throws a handshake at him. It was pretty funny because at that point they were the first to know before the broadcast. That is how we knew first who won.I missed this handshake, can you fill me in?
