Devonta Smith

Bama's 2007 class was top 25ish. Maybe my memory is going, but McClain looks like the real star, and he was legit. Funny how we were busted up when he took Kerry and Nick from us. I don't recall them doing ****.

2008 on the other hand was ****ing loaded. Im not ready to indict Richt because he won't have the number 1 class this year. I do think that we need to finish in the top 10. Ofourse staff targets and then development are key.

But yeah it kinda sucks we are missing on our top 3 wr targets.

Im not sure if I am justifying, denying, deflecting, or what, but . . . No doubt Julio Jones in 08 was awesome. No doubt JJ this year is a baller. I think in 08, we could have won with better wideouts even if it wouldn't have been Julio. I would love to get some of those south florida wideouts with chips on their shoulders. We just have to find the right ones, and develop them.

Fisher and saban did a similar thing they didnt win much but there next classes were super star loaded. I hope MR can do that because i knew then fsu and bama would win big.....i hate fsu but i knew fisher was the real deal when i saw the class he brought in

I wasn't that high on Smith. Harley can bring us the same element. Jeudy is the one that stings.

Disagree he's on the same level of jeudy

Actually think he's better than Jeudy bc he doesn't even realize how good he is yet and he's more explosive.

Never expected him here. Makes too much sense, and if it's one thing these kids do, it's make the choice that makes sense. I'm not sure we were even a realistic option. Just another hat on the table like the Mo Smith situation. He's known exactly where he wanted to go for some time now.

Smith isn't quick. Straight-line guy. He looked horrible in the footage I saw from the Rivals Challenge because he was so leggy and slow out of his breaks.

His speed is legit but Jeudy's ability to separate so easily against good DBs puts him on a whole different level. I think Harley can give us the speed element.

Yup

Dude has one route hes similar to dorsett

I believe we have coach and we will be the team to take down bama as some posted! see ya young fella, the canes are coming!

You think? Shawn Davis shut Jeudy down in the Spring. It's like the equivalent of a basketball player doing 360 dunks or shooting 3 point shots with only their left hand from half court. Not saying he's not a player or won't be at the next, but what you saw at The Opening, Paradise, and FNL, is not who he was and is when the pads come on.

You're right, though (as usual). I guess I should've said I like Smith's potential more than Jeudy's. Jeudy is clearly the better player now, but I like Smith's athleticism more and ceiling more.

He will regret picking Bama unless he enjoys sitting the bench for 2 years and run blocking all game.LSU has worse QB's than Bama so his numbers will suck there too.Why not come play in a pro style offense with Kaaya and Allison, put up big numbers, and go to the league??? *** him if he is too stupid to see that.

We need to just straight up pay Holloman... Just give Deejay the bag and have him facilitate the whole deal.

Every year these kids make idiot decisions. Here's my thing sure they had Amati, Julio and bow Ridley but all were elite going in so they couldn't ***** them up. You have 3 stud wrs but what about the other 30 wrs who don't even make the league? Anytime a wr goes to Bama or FSU I wonder so they do their own research

Bama coming in with no salary cap this year on what they spend on recruits.

You really think they are paying everyone? Look kids want to play for a champion, and they are just that right now. In the end this will not need well for a good amount of these kids, but they don't know that, they are all confident kids that think they are the best. Not one of them even considers the possibility that they will get processed.

Bama getting Jeudy, Smith, & Shavers. That's not fair

They are also getting Nico Collins and the receiver from Penn. some of these guys dreaming if they are thinking of PT. Also hate tone bearer of not good news, but Holli,an will committ to Ga on the 19th.

Just one man's opinion, with a healthy South Florida bias.

Unfortunately, it seems like they will settle the debate on Alabama's practice fields instead of Greentree.

Appreciate it. I'm not a Jeudy guy and never have been, so I guess I'm bias as well. I recognize his talents, but, I'll happily tell anyone with a straight face that I like Carmoni Green more. But that's just me.

I told idiots on this board he wasn't coming. Why do you guys always do this to yourselves ?

I go after Daylon Charlot now. He is more talented than every receiver Miami is after except for Holloman. The kid is an elite KR/PR with potential to be a number one receiver. He had 2 huge returns in the UA all American. One was for a TD and the other one was 40-50 yarders, sign this kid up.

Smith is a better route runner but i agree

Who has better hands, speed, instincts, and willingness to learn? Give me that guy. I would think Dugans can teach how run routes, block and schemes to someone with the tangibles that is willing to learn. It is hard to teach hands, speed and instincts though.

Hands its smith, same for instincts, but speed harley takes it by a mile

Dorsett was actually a very good route runner, the plays we saw more of from him where those go plays since no one could really run with him

When you claim everyone's not coming it's easy for you to be right most of the time. Keep doing this for awhile, and you can transition into an insider.

Many of you are looking at Saban's future with this team, but there is something brewing thats in the more foreseeable future with that team...

I still have to believe that these offensive skill position commits that Bama has are going to re-open their recruiting once Lane Kiffin leaves. There's no way he sticks for another year as an OC under Saban..... I believe that their offensive commits will start to look around because of it.

Remember, Kiffin was a Syracuse and Maryland lean before Babers got the job. It's only going to get worse after this season. Kiffin leaving is going to open up a ton of their offensive players' commitments.

That's our last shot with them and we have to take advantage of that.
