You're just straight up wrong about McNeil. And all the guys you are calling nothing more than role players are good NFL starters.
And acting like just replacing starters and their backups with literal practice squad players and guys off the couch is normal is insane. And it certainly doesn't happen ALL ACROSS the entire defensive unit all at once like it did the Lions this yr.

How many pro bowls and all pros do they have collectively… we can always start there and get away from our opinions.

All pro and pro bowls haven't been decided this yr. And guys getting injured hurts their chances at that lol.
How many All Pros does Aiden Hutchinson have exactly? is he elite? Alim McNeil just got a new $100m contract after last year and was playing at a top level. Absolutely in the all-pro discussion pre ACL injury.

Going into this season…. How many did those players have? Of course the injuries effected if they would have been all pros I didn’t know I needed to spell that out for you

Again Hutchison is elite we need not bring him up… McNeil got a 100m dollar contract for 5 sacks last year and no pro bowls or all pros.

Your defending all the rest of these supposed hugely important defenders OTHER THAN Hutchison we agree he is elite

I'm really happy for their fan base.

They've been awful since I started watching the NFL (with a few bright sparks every now and again). They deserve a good run of being great. I hope they win it all this year.

Kerby Joseph wasn't an All Pro entering this season but clearly is now. Would that mean if he got hurt his injury wouldn't matter cause he didn't get that status last season? What you're saying doesn't make sense.

Starters are important lol. Do you know how football works? Why do you think teams should just be expected to survive 6 starters being out for season and another 3 or so missing significant time... And then their backups get hurt lol.
Here is a fact, when the defense was healthy they were like a top 5 rated defense on the season by pretty much every metric.

This is one of dumbest arguments I've ever heard someone try to make on here. Yeah losing all your starters doesn't matter... Smfh

What's assuming about the fact that before the injuries increased they were top 5 in nearly ever metric? Please expound on this stupid ****.

All the same players... Except with entirely different CBs and with Kerby/Branch/Jack Campbell/Alim McNeil/ and even Hutchinson not having taken the next step yet that they absolutely have taken this year lol. Oh and added DJ Reader who is also very good.

Nah Cuddy; Lions r dealing w/ hella injuries right now.

They had a very, very good defense b4 the injuries caught up along the front 7.

If Lions actually don't at least make it to the SB this year I'm honestly going to be sick for all long-time Lions fans. This has clearly been their best season ever, and they're in a situation where they have 14 wins (their most ever) and could still get relegated to the 5 seed, and have so many injuries on defense that even with a truly elite offense, they could still lose in playoffs even though they have been by far the best team in the NFL this season as a whole... Like **** that'd suck to have such a great season but just not getting a SB to show for it and just constantly asking what if your defense didn't get crippled by injuries.... Lets just avoid that and drop 50 every game going forward lol.

The pass defense was iffy earlier in the year, but that front seven was stout and generated pressure. Even when Hutchinson went down, McNeil started to show flashes of a real good interior DL. Then he went down. ZaDarius Smith was a decent pickup and even he has been battling injuries.
