Hutchinson, Alim McNeil are both elite at DL and had significant injuries.
They also lost Marcus Davenport at Edge who was starting for season. At Lb they lost Anzalone, Barnes, and Rodriguez who all 3 were contributors or starting. Anzalone projected to return in couple weeks after breaking arm. At CB they just lost Carlton Davis with broken jaw. They just got Melifonwu back who was out all season. Most of the DLine left has missed a bunch of games.

Literally only guys who haven't been hurt on defense are like Branch and Kirby Joseph who have both been elite this yr.
