I don’t think UM believes the DT prospects this year are worth the high end NIL investment. Or at least not where UM should spend its money this season compared to last.
The interesting thing about any free market that recycles every 12 months is that the people at the top of the market every year believe they are worth top dollar because they are at the top of that year’s market. But the buyer may not believe that this years #1 D tackle has the same value as last year’s #1 D Tackle, and may act accordingly.
Think of this year’s NBA draft compared to last year. Though they are stuck with a rookie wage scale and have to pay the same money, there is no way the Atlanta Hawks believe the guy they drafted #1 is as good as last year’s #1 pick in Wembeyama.
Best explanation so far. I agree. Other than Griffin, I'm not seeing the same talent level as last year's class.
