Wondering how many DT we take if Norris coming?

Mathis
Adirika
Boucard

Do we take 2 of that 3 of that above group if they want in? I can't imagine passing on Bouchard…But maybe this means he is off to the SEC? If Norris is in, I definitely can't see all 3 of that group? And this is before we even get into Jarquez Carter or long shots Charles (who Gabby swears we made up ground on) or Griffith

Like Norris's tape though.
 
Any verified size numbers for this kid? If he is listed at 6’3 265, then he is probably 6’2 250-260. We can’t take him AND Mathis, both undersized eventual 3T’s. I prefer Carter over them both honestly but sounds like we are in the backseat there.

We need more size, can’t take too many of these kids IMO.

Boucard got a USC cb but that obviously doesn’t mean anything. I think Bama is the favorite to get him.

Dmoney said he grew an inch in between his Miami visits so I think the 6’3 is legit and looking at his picture in the Canesport tweet he definitely looks like he is 275ish.

That would help.
Between him, Mathis, Adirika, and Carter…we have some options for 3T and I’d assume 2 is our number there and then hopefully 2 of Boucard, Griffith, Autry etc as guys who can handle being closer to 0.

We need him, the big body types must be stacked and he is the best shot we have right now from a realistic standpoint. He isn’t some reach either, he is a **** good prospect and would be highly sought after no matter where he was from IMO.

Not a pessimist when it comes to recruiting but the vibe with Boucard I got was the recruiting was about to get pretty slimy. Not sure if that’s a factor

Felt like we thought we could get a commit but it’s changed so it’s like well let’s circle back. Not suggesting we would move on. Idk though.

Early this year I had a post on DT size where I broke down drafted DT’s and their size. I agree that you need big bodies however, the majority of top DT’s are less than 300lbs.

A kid listed at 6’2 265 as a junior in HS is plenty big. He has the size to easily grow into a 6’2 290 DT which is big enough for most of our base sets where we don’t have a nose.

The question is, does he have the quickness and power to be a disruptive.

From what I've seen he's in the mold of a 3T as far as style of play and ability to disrupt. Projecting how these guys gain weight can be a crapshoot, but getting to 290 shouldn't be a problem if he's already around 260 and has a solid frame to add weight. I always wonder more about wingspan for these DL, it's arguably more important than height yet it's never reported unless a kid has a "freakish" wingspan.
