DE Dylan Stewart is expected to command $1 to $1.5 million on his second-year deal.

Getting out of hand quickly. This is the one place that I hope the NCAA can step in quickly to put a cap on the dollars or something.

Why? Its the free market these kids are employees.

Yea there needs to be a structure but the universities and NcAA have made billions off of these kids and wouldn’t let them earn a dollar. so its 100% their fault right now they are in this mess.

You want your employer to come and cap your position? These kids should be able to get whatever the market wants to pay.

The sad parts is it’s coming from fans of the program and boosters having to pay all while the ncaa and universities make all the money. Its assbackwards

Only top players in the country like cam and sanders are getting non-school-affiliated NIL deals. Like cam with bose. So the rest of the players are reliant on the collective. And negotiated directly with school affiliated groups

Interesting, so with the $20 million budget coming, they will have to figure out how to pay that out to certain players?

Renegotiating your NIL package (upwards) was bound to be an issue. The biggest fear is if the player pulls out before a game and has somewhat of a "holdout" to get his money.

I have no issues with players renegotiating their NIL deal. Doesn't stop schools from negotiating downward so why can't it happen the other way aroound?

I sure as **** hope not. As soon as there are limits and restrictions we have to play by them and others will “work around them”. If contracts max at say 500k than everyone offers 500k and people like Kirby smart work the additional backend loot to get them to GA. Of course we would be under a microscope and given the death penalty if caught.

There should be contracts/salaries for players. It would be nice if they were not year to year too.

And there should be separate NIL deals for players who are actually promoting something. An example would be Cam Ward and and the recent adidas ad.
All this is happening.

I’ve reviewed numerous NIL contracts, including from UM and the contracts are year to year. And there is one contract for what the collective will provide and separate contracts for the outside NIL deals.

I am only writing in the context of NIL, and not in the context of scholarships/financial aid contracts.

Its insane...but overtime I still thinks this happens less and less outside of guys like Cam Ward or a Stewart. I also think you will see less guys on the 2nd half of your roster get anything.
