DC Candidates

If that is the case, MC is dumber than i thought. If your calling card as a coach is a manager type? You need to learn how to step out the **** way🤣🤣🤣. He need to be humbled if he aint trying to unlearn those toxic habits/traits.
What if this is a budget situation? The staff he wants to bring in being 1.5x the amount of current? Just a thought

If sucks not closing on presumably your first choice at DC but obviously the portal kids are liking what they are hearing so just gotta wait it out and trust Mario.

If that's the case, were I Mario, I'd pay it in a NY minute after this season's cluster that cost us the chance at a special season.
I hear you, but there's gotta be limits in these budgets, staff, NIL, operations....I can't imagine there's just this endless supply of money at UM....if that was the scenario I don't think we would have had such a lopsided Offense / Defense roster last season.

Did StatePenn's James Franklin once discussed elite college recruiters and their ability to have pretty wives?
Careful there Kane. Lol.
That’s always been a running “joke” around college football coaching circles, lol. There is some truth to it. But having a fat wallet don’t hurt either in the pursuit or procurement of good looking women.

Hurtt is a good coach and could do the job well, but he left here with a show cause and I think that makes it very unlikely. With Banks, I wonder if the issue was money or something else? Hard to believe it’s money.
That was over a decade ago. He’s good now.

Why does it seem like our fanbase is the only fanbase whose obsessed with this letting coordinators hire there own staff stuff? It rarely happens in college football so whether right or wrong its not like Mario is some kind of outlier in that respect. Everyone brings up Dabo hiring Brentt Venables but Dabo didn't let Venables hire his own staff either. In fact I don't think they changed any defensive coaches that were there the year before Venables got there.

Funny story....Many years ago when Mike Locksley was an assistant at Maryland under Ralph Friedgen, a buddy of mine used to rave about Locksley's wife. Buddy coached son's youth soccer team of which one of Locksley's sons played on. My boy used to tell me he would find any excuse to coach lil Locksley up after practice just so he can find an excuse to chat with Mrs. Locksley.
Cracked me up.
Anyways, fast forward a few years later when the James Franklin quote went viral for a day, it was brought up on a soFla sports talk show where one of the hosts Channing Crowder mentioned there was a coach on staff who was a very good recruiter because of his wife. He claimed that he and many of his teammates used to find any excuse to show up at the coach's house.
Then he named the coach who was...wait for it...Mike Locksley.
Small world.
