My wife is ****ed we fired another coach. She knows I’m about to spend half my awake time in this thread smh
He broke and out of work right?Mel Tucker. Allegedly.
1. Jim Leonhard (Former Wisconsin Defensive Coordinator) defensive mastermind, known for consistently producing top-tier defenses at Wisconsin. Does he want to come back?
2. Will Muschamp (Co-Defensive Coordinator, Georgia) proven and understands SEC-level competition. Does he want to jump?
3. Doug Belk (Defensive Coordinator, Houston) ability to maximize talent at Houston, leading one of the best Group of Five defenses. His youth and energy may fit well with Miami’s recruiting efforts and bring a fresh perspective.
4. Zach Arnett (Head Coach, Mississippi State) 3-3-5 defensive scheme and SEC experience would be valuable. His aggressive style could inject new life into Miami’s defense.
5. Brad White (Defensive Coordinator, Kentucky) ability to develop players and construct disciplined, stingy defenses at Kentucky shows he can deliver results.
6. Tony Gibson (Defensive Coordinator, NC State)
experience in the ACC and success with NC State’s 3-3-5 scheme make him a great candidate. His familiarity with the conference would be an asset to Miami.
Miami’s defense needs:
1. A coordinator who can stop big plays and solidify fundamentals.
2. Someone who can recruit at a high level, particularly in South Florida.
3. A coach who can adapt to the modern fast-paced offenses of college football.
Glenn Schumann: guy Mario initially wanted when he got here. May want to be free of Muschamp?
Corey Raymond: as co-DC? Another guy Mario wanted.
Id like a former HC.
Pat Fitzgerald would be solid.
Greg Schiano would too if he got tired of living at Rutgers.
Nothing makes me think he's interested. Just pointing out the type of candidate I would like. What has he coordinated?
Schiano turned down UM HC gig a couple of times, what makes you think
he is interested?
Butch would kill it in this era, that’s one gift he had was evaluating talent . He would be able to see who is hype and who is good in the portal . Nope he’s to old but in his prime he’d be goodThat would be too reasonable for our program, but I hope you’re right. Too often, we’ve stumbled onto success, rather than having planned/built for it. As a layman, it worries me.
Edit: Except for Schnelly and Butch periods.
I hope I am wrong. I just don't see it
Randy Shannon?Nice list.
Don't forget to add Dave Wannstedt, Sonny Lubick and Mickey Andrews.
They were ranked top 10 in 2020. Manny lost 7 of his final 14 games at UM. If Mario regresses back to 7-5 like Manny did then I agree I would want him gone.Didn't the team win like 5 of 6 of the final games with a close loss (or in Mario World an almost win) to FSU in there? Regressing is what happened at the end of the season this year.
I wouldn't mind Him at all, just don't know how recruits parents would feel about a self admitted m a s t u r b a t o r in their living rooms.
Rex Ryan or I’m done with MarioIs this thread a retirement home for the most cognitively impaired members of football society?
Greg Schiano?
Pat Fitzgerald?
Mel Tucker?
Jason Taylor?
Coach FRIGGIN O?!
Did you guys fall asleep with the TV on 9 years ago and wake up literally yesterday? None of those guys are coordinators, most haven’t been relevant for 5+ years, half of them DONT EVEN COACH COLLEGE FOOTBALL ANYMORE.
If your criteria is “He Gotta Look Kinda Like Wario from Behind” + “I Can Tell My Beer Butt Buddies Some Facts About His Past”, give your mom your phone, pour another bowl of Fruity Loops (a clean one), and lock yourself in the Transfer Portal forum until March.
7 is too low. 10 wins. I think the Manny debates have gone on long enough really - he did not get us where we wanted - he got fired. Some of the points currently being made are the comparison of what got one fired vs another - which is fine. If after 4 seasons, Mario does not win the ACC or get us in the playoff, then get him out of here. They were ranked top 10 in 2020. Manny lost 7 of his final 14 games at UM. Those guys deserve what Miami has been the past two decadesIs this thread a retirement home for the most cognitively impaired members of football society?

These expectations are wild. I think 7 would be disappointing and certainly want to win the ACC and play in the playoff. But if we go 9-3 or even 8-4 with a Top 10 recruiting class next season and you still want to fire him, you might as well just wait for the day Urban Meyer coaches here because you'll never be satisfied.7 is too low. 10 wins. 7 wins in Year 4 should not be hot seat level, but get the **** out of my face level for the pay and resources.
Appreciate the sarcasm. Malzahn did the exact move I’m talking about and UCF has been a far better program than Rutgers in the last 5 years. Maybe Schiano is happy where he’s at? But if he wants a potential for a big job, being a highly successful coordinator at a top program is the move currently. What better place to show your defensive genius than our crap storm of a defensive situation and he’s got a great relationship with Mario. Why not shoot for Dan Lanning? I think he’d be better.
